He’s being taken off of the list because most of these guys don’t know who he is. That’s the thing, and feeds right into the other point you were making. NBA and its fans don’t acknowledge anything that occurred before Magic and Bird.

Giannis been in the league 8 years. David Robinson was in the league 8 years when he was selected for top 50. It's a little more justified than the "Shaq" pick (although Shaq is undeniably a top 50 player ever now that his career is over).

David Robinson was an All Star and great player from the beginning. Shaq too for that matter. Giannis was not that though, so his eight years isn’t the same in my opinion.
How is anyone even thinking of denying Giannis when he has 2 MVPs, a DPOY, and a Finals MVP already?

Nah breh, even counting longevity Giannis already has 5 All-Star, 4 All-Defensive, 5 All-NBA selections (2 2nd-team and 3 1st-team). That's ahead of plenty of guys who made the top-50 list.

Yao just barely misses in my opinion but he did have 5 All-NBA selections even in his abbreviated career, which is more than PP managed in a full and basically injury-free career.
More All-Star and All-NBA selections than a lot of guys who make the list. Short career and lack of MVP candidacy or playoff resume just barely keep him off for me.
