you can blame the economy or the new nyc demographic or stubhub or whatever you want
fact is people in the city are simply less interested in sports. the only ticket that maintains its value is knicks/rangers and thats only because its right in midtown and its all corporate.
apart from that the only sports ticket that also kept its value is us open, but thats a global event and people come from other countries for that. so it doesnt really count. also doesnt count, playoff games for mets (due to rarity), not even the yankees anymore. those regular billy joel concerts at msg are crazy too. but he's the goat ny signer so thats an exception.
the only potential team i could see being super popular week in week out is if they move nycfc to flushing. now that would be a real neighborhood team. but it makes too much sense so no way its happening.
All true. Brooklyn is bizarro world and sports definitely isn't at the top of that food chain.
