:what:
Even if the arena has spacing issues, the people who own the arena are not going to tear down a new facility in a prime location. This isn't 1970 anymore, there aren't many vacant spaces in the city that's close to downtown/midtown build at anymore.

If you check the Billboard list, Barclay's is in the Top 5 venues for revenue for concerts and trade shows... which basically proves they dont care about the NETS.

This shyt here :mjlol: :camby:

Guess we're ingnoring the first 3 seasons in Brooklyn when we averaged 17,000 a game and were middle of the pack attendance-wise. When the team was competitive and in the playoffs people came and that building was loud for big games.

When we're trying to rebuild the mess we got left in, people are not coming. And yet we're still not dead last in attendance. Bucks, Nuggets, and T-Wolves have worse #s. So all you've proven here is that shytty teams don't draw fans like the good ones. What a shocker.

No, we're not gonna "Take over NY" like those dumb campaigns they ran. The Knicks are always NY's team, just like the Giants, Yankees, and Rangers. NY sports is made up of Big Bro-Little Bro, this is just another example of it.

The first 3 years proved a competitive team will draw interest. Not Knicks level interest, but interest that makes Brooklyn more than viable.

That is not true NY is made up of front running if BK had an exciting young player or a cool fun to watch team or winning it would be packed unless you are in Manhattan you better field a watchable team or nikkas won't show up it had in BX(yankees), queens(Mets), NJ (Giants. Yankees) , NY is a front running town it will become the town of whoever is hot, shyt see how many Mets fans have all of sudden popped up in the last two yrs.

Move into an arena not designed for your sport brehs

That's a whole nother story. The Islanders are legit orphans. That's on Long Island though

Like another poster said that's another story, originally Barclays Center was going to be an able to NHL adequate facility, but economy tanked and Barclays designed was reduced to be more of an basketball facility to cut cost. Nassau County politics doomed the Islanders and they are in their situation.
:francis: Just had to bring up the bullshyt politics in Nassau county and leaving the coliseum right? shyt is an all time :martin: :shaq2: Sports moment for me personally, despite the fact that I can walk 10 minutes to take the 4 train 4 stops to the arena. fukking Kate Murray :aicmon:

They're irrelevant because they havent been good for years, not due to the location. There was a lot of hype during and after the transition. People wanted to be Nets fans, but the front office made terrible moves and they've been stagnant ever since.

Whenever they start winning, it'll be packed.

This is true. When they were in New Jersey they were playing in the wack ass Meadowlands, and it was always a pain to get out there, especially if you didn't drive. Once the team moved to Newark & then Brooklyn the attendance went up. But it also helped that they were a putting out a good product on the floor, but ever since the KG/Pierce/IsoJoe/DWill experiment failed, they have been hard to watch.

No long term or short term future, no marketable stars, the knowledge that none of the current players will be on a nets team that is a contender. All these things combined = a lot of empty seats. Hard to find a reason for the fans to tune in right now.

naw, i think nobody cares.. u think die-hard KNICK fans are gonna jump ship to a team with no history or identity?

90% of Brooklyn is gentrified hipster cac's from the Midwest, they dont watch the NBA fam.

I saw plenty of brehs who were Knicks fans from Brooklyn who also threw their support behind the Nets because they were representing BK.

If you live in NY, you know this is not true at all.

nikka i live and grew up in ny is a front running town ask yankee fans how empty yankee stadium has been these last few yrs after over 20 something yrs of playoff appearance or mets fans like myself that could get mets tickets for cheap from 09 to 14 then check the last two yrs only one team in ny area is immune to that is the knicks and that is because of location
