they dont know
muthafukkin internet got these kids all kindsa fukked up
:snoop:

And even Harlem too. nikkas will say it's all cac but will forget black people still very much present despite the changing demographics, especially in East Harlem.

And as for BX, have yet to see a single cac or hipster my whole life, even in Mott Haven that news like to prop up as the next big development.

Let's ignore the West Indian, Russian, and Italian communities that take up whole neighborhoods in Brooklyn. I live in crown heights and work in Bensonhurst. Never seen a single midwestern hipster in either place :mjlol:
The same nikkas with that mentality, would end up being chased off the block Usain fast. Could you imagine them going to Two First, thinking it's Silicon Valley? :russ:
Where do you out of town nikkas get these statistics from? :what:You always say this shyt about Brooklyn but you are not even from here. Brooklyn has a large black and hispanic population. You think all of Brooklyn is just Williamsburg? :stopitslime:Have you ever been to Brownsville,East new York,Flatbush,Bed Stuy,Crown Heights,Coney Island,Canarsie? There is a large black population in Brooklyn dummy.:camby:
How do you guys afford rent there?:ohhh:

You have to be in NYC right now to really understand. The gentrifiers who move here just aren't interested in Basketball. The poor immigrants who come here have no connection to Basketball. The people who live here now don't have the same emotional connection to this city as some of the 30 and over folks who have LEFT NYC.

U missin my point. People will develop or fake that emotional attachment once Bk starts really winning

N1kkas couldn't name 5 clippers fans they knew personally 10 years ago now check them boy's out..... Point being, People like to cheer celebrate etc. A winning team in Brooklyn will bring the city out

NY absolutely have bandwagon nikkas, but we have to be up there amongst the best when it comes to loyalty. I've seen Mets fans rock a full Mets outfit at the Yankees parade with zero fukks given. I know some Jets fans who still argue with me now, saying next year is the year. You peeped the Cubs? The Nets are a Jersey team, not Brooklyn. Always will be.

It goes to show you how much influence Jay has. He's another reason BK was hype for this, but once Jay kept it moving, so did Brooklyn.

:russ: that was me.... When the Yankees won in 1998, I was working at a law firm at 1 Broadway. That location was right where they would start the parades. For the company, it was almost like a day off since everyone was outside for the parade. Since I was a Mets fan, I was like :martin: and stayed inside and worked. But eventually I decided to go out and see what was good. I was able to see my n1gga Darryl Strawberry on his float, and I shouted out "DARRYL!!!! 1986 BABY!!!!" Straw looked over at me and pointed at me on some :myman: and everybody else around started booing "What? Mets fan?!? Get outta here!!!" But I was gucci though... Went back inside the building like :smugbiden:

BK
nope, even when they made the playoffs, it was empty as hell. terrible decision.

Should've just moved them to Vancouver, Seattle or some shyt.

No it wasn't.. You don't know what the fukk you're talking about. The year they had the lineup of Williams, Johnson Lopez, Pierce and KG, the arena was always packed. They just don't have a good team out there so nobody is coming out to see them.

I don't think folks understand that the Nets move to Brooklyn was intended to help escalate massive gentrification there.

The Barclays arena was supposed to anchor the construction of multiple luxury apartment buildings surrounding it. The
economy has slowed down the Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park project.

Those $20K season ticket packages were never intended for Flatbush families just one generation removed from St. Kitts.

Yup.

As someone who admittedly doesn't have a ton of real estate knowledge, I'm amazed how little the whole thing had to do with the Nets franchise itself.
