we can and we should compete with them for a 28 year old point guard who would likely be one of our main targets anyway. who else would we target? if we were looking at him anyway whats the difference if we spend it now or later? then we have trade exceptions out the ass on top of it. stevens needs to realize that yes, smart is a souped up shelvin mack but also that he is not a primary point guard.

hes almost like a mini bledsoe to be honest with you. obviously bledsoe/dragic has worked fairly well. smart doesnt need to be pushed to the moon so quick..he needs seasoning to run a team..him being the first or second guard off the bench and perhaps playing crunch time for defensive purposes is fine. or trade him
