Definitely not. People act like men go into these agreements with intentions to cheat. When I got with my girl I had every intention on hanging it up. So there really was no way to be upfront. But people dont seem to believe men who cheat could have ever planned otherwise in the beginning.

Then once you have a family/kids you have every reason to lie. And if I was married and had money,I'd have even more reason to lie. Knowing how the court system is set up to destroy breadwinners.


Edit-this is past tense,Im happily and righteously attached now. But it was a proccess of regret,righteously cheating,being bamboozled and betrayed,and fear that got me here.

Is God really ok with you having more than one woman?

It was allowed in the Old Testament but virtually all the stories about it involve dysfunction, jealousy, and sin. Think of the horrible battle between Abraham's wife Sarah and mistress Hagar, or the issues with Jacob and Rachel and Leah and Bilhah and Zilpah, or the ways Solomon was led into sin by his many wives. Meanwhile, the relationships that are depicted as peaceful and beautiful are almost invariably the ones where there was only one wife, like Isaac and Rebekkah. If the Old Testament alone was your guide, you'd come to the impression that it wasn't condemned but it sure looked like a really bad idea.

By New Testament times, it was clear that one man with one woman was the standard, and there is no evidence of Jesus or his disciples or the Church ever allowing polygamy. Like the rules on divorce (see Matthew 19:3-9), polygamy appears to be a practice that was allowed in the earlier days due to their hardness of heart, but which was abandoned as their understanding of God grew.


That, of course, is just the Biblical case. There are innumerable logical and social reasons while polygamy is clearly a bad idea. I have friends who are polygamist but I see the tensions and issues it causes and would not wish that on any family.
