Not sure I'd consider Maryland the 'South' but yeah, I understand. If most of my family didn't live in Chicago I'd be strongly tempted by a Charlotte or an Atlanta

Maryland's a very interesting state when it comes to this Third Great Migration. In both PG County and Baltimore alone, I've seen a whole lotta New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Ohio plates (it's one household in my neighborhood that's a family of Nuyoricans and there's another household with a wife/mother who's from NYC) but I've also seen plenty of North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida plates out here too....Also, randomly be seeing California plates a lil more often than usual. Matter of fact, the owner of one of my most favorite Black-owned bookstores in the DMV (Harambee in Alexandria, VA) is originally from NC.

There’s nothing you can do about it tho. When a city you live in sees growth it’s your duty to buy property or else you will be priced out.

My gripe is with white people. They just priced out a place I use to frequent back in the days. Now the blacks on the outside looking in since they renovated the area and turned it luxury. To think this was a straight up black area, not a white in sight. I was too young to buy property in time.

Half the out of Towner's I deal with on a daily basis and have met are from Detroit. They'd rather be here than Detroit.

They have a whole Detroit movement out here.
The rest are from Chicago or Philadelphia.
