shyt, I liked Geno too, but they gotta figure something out cause I think NYJ is a playoff team, just need to get the QB position on track.

Kinda like the 49ers haha

Jets are drafting another qb next year. Hopefully they'll have more skill positions players of note at the WR position to throw to.

QB is such a funny ass position to judge in the NFL.

You don't want a noodle arm game manager because unless your D is a top 5 all time, they will win you games but can't win those few games you need them to help you win themselves. (Subtract Dilfer, include Pennington, Alex Smith, Jason Campbell)

The pro typical gunslinger with the huge sexy arm will take TOO many risks and leave you in the same spot the game managers leave you, with just a bigger flash (Jeff George, Stafford, Cutler etc.)

The new age Running QB bring an even sexier edge and dimension, but needs to be able to make critical plays with their arms in the pocket on important pressure situation drives, consistently. (Cam, RGIII, Luck)

It is so hard to judge just exactly what a QB will give you, consistently, until they've been coached in a system, and allowed to play for a season or two. They need a chance to see live coverage, feel live pressure, learn their progressions in game situations and be given a CHANCE to attempt to learn from their mistakes. Not a lot of QB's today truly get the reps needed to label them.

Who knows what Gino will turn into.

If you can't play under pressure you cant play the position.

Most titles these days are won with elite qbs and if you dont have one you better have a qb who s strnegth is to throw the deep ball like Flacco

its a big play league now where there are no more dominant defenses you need to put up points so you cant win with game managers anymore either

I thought they drafted Geno with the intention on him becoming the guy.

To me he's shown enough flashes to be able to not have that hanging over him. Should just keep building and if he's still inconsistent after say year 3 then you move on.

He couldn't make pre snap reads on the same defense he practices against & He doesn't know when to throw the ball away or when to run.

IDK, I just don't like spending a high draft pick on a QB two years in a row. Unless it was a situation like Carolina.

Depends who's on the board obviously. The Jets didnt go into the draft saying they had to get Geno Smith. He fell to them.

Yeah, I can see that happening.

There just seems to be many QB prospects in this coming draft and in reality it's not like Geno is getting paid much and there isn't some huge investment in him as the future.

He still could be that dude for them, but they can't be so sure of that and gotta make the move if a potential superstar QB is available.

That defensive front is too good to go to waste

I don't agree with this. He did just that that last week. The problem is...and I'm going to say it....Mangold has fallen the fukk off
