Who here isn't waiting on him? And what "hype?" Where is it?so far i like geno but im not sold yet. i hope he becomes a great qb and the franchise guy we been waiting for but i been a jet fan too long to jump on the hype wagon just yet.
ive seen plenty of jets fans singing his praises already so far this year. throwing around words like potential and poise and all these other phrases. im just saying im not gonna get hyped about him til he has a few consistent years and not halfway decent "good for a rookie" games.
now im not saying he aint shyt, i do like the fact he takes chances down the field and that our offense isnt stagnant but lets not forget markie mark had a few long bombs to braylon and santonio too. its 3 games lets wait.

I'm at jets games. Your skepticism isn't unique...why act that way? And no...Sanchez was a horrible deep passer and certainly doesn't make this throw

Dude been making some big time throws. I don't know what his ceiling is but he's been playing well for the most part. Some of those throws were
I know one thing... If the Jets are on TV, I'll actually tune in to see how Geno's playing. Never did that with Sanchez (and I'm a Sanchez apologist)

I think fans are more guarded about Geno than they were about Fez. Fez was called the Sanchize EARLY. Geno is like that person that might be the next QB but you're not sure because you've been burned by other QB's.
He hasn't had a signature W yet for people to be like "THAT'S IT! I THINK HE'S THE GUY!" Fez kinda had that moment in week 2 against the Pats his rookie year.

i didnt say potential is over the top but i think potential is overrated. lots of players have potential and fall flat on their faces. no need to get upset im making MY personal observation. sanchez may not have been a great deep passer but i remember the word "potential" and the phrases "not afraid to take chances" and "future of the franchise" being thrown around. im just saying, as a jets fan since 97, im cautiously optimistic about geno. im not being cynical, im just saying PERSONALLY i prefer not to get too happy about him just yet.
yea generally the mood is more guarded but i think having sanchez suck for the last 2 years has people so desperate to get away that anytime geno makes a good pass they get a little overly excited. i
Everyone being more guarded about Geno is a good thing. The fans and more importantly the front office bought into Sanchez, twice. Obvious mistakes.
This is a trial year and so far so good. No ones throwing up the diamond just yet lol.

saying someone has potential doesnt mean shyt. my teachers used to say i had the potential to be a great scholar and here i am sitting on a loading dock making 34k a year. saying someone has potential means nothing til its realized.
