really? Nothing? as in zero?

how is the part I quoted inaccurate?

"Nelly wasn't on anyone's remix or album, affiliated with no major artist, just came out with a song people liked and the shyt blew up.
"

You could replace "Nelly" for "ASAP Rocky" and that statement would be 100% correct.

You're allowed to disagree. Just provide an explanation.

Cut it out, first thing i remember of dude being talked about was controversy because he had a white girl saying nikka in his video, not because his song was big....from there he had people talking about his music, small following, blogs talking....first big song from dude was fukking Problems which had industry help....aint a song you can name that he put out that was big on the level of what nelly did:mjlol:...alzo theres been talk of dude bein about that industry plant life:sas1:

to even say its "sorta" like what Nelly did is dishonest,it was more like what more rappers than i care to count do....dont try to add Asaps "rise" in their with Nelly who actually did something special few have done.

Soulja Boy has more of a "you cant hate it:manny:" story than Asap, theirs plenty of room to hate on that c00n,a white girl with gold teeth saying nikka as your introduction is one of em:heh:

The explanation is ASAP didnt remotely reach the levels that nelly did.

Absolutely true. But you're talking about the magnitude, not the scenario.

I'm saying: the same way Nelly came out of nowhere in the hip hop world is how ASAP came out of nowhere. No affiliations with a major artist, no appearance on a previous album or remix. They both came out with songs that blew up. That's all I ever said.

Nelly reached the households of America, ASAP reached the online hip hop world with Purple Swag. Nelly was way way more successful. We already know this and arguing that is pointless.

He should be compared to Young Joc or somebody like that

That's disingenuous. Young Joc was signed to Diddy (so there's your cosign) and had a year run at best....?

We're still talking about Rocky almost 4 years later. After what some would consider a classic or at least superb mixtape.

What body of work did Young Joc ever release that people went: "whoa... that's creative". The answer is "nothing."

Another emotional, smiley-heavy post.

I'm getting to the point where I just skip this kinda stuff. None of you ever offer an argument, and that's all I'm interested in. For most of y'all, it's just a bunch of loose statements and "look at this gif laughing at you" crap. It's so boring.

I'm too old for that.

If nelly was way more successful then you you should compare rocky to someone whom level his is on,like jibbs or mims.
I've never met anyone in my life that thought asap was anything special at all.
I dont know anyone my age or younger, white black etc that give a shyt about rocky, his mixtapes or his crew.
It's going down was bigger than anything rocky has done.
You should be honored i mention him with Young Joc

inaccurate. and the fact that you're saying this makes me wonder if you even understand the hip hop landscape.

An earthquake of magnitude 9 is nowhere comparable to an earthquake of magnitude 6.

Both, however, are still earthquakes.

Sitting here discussing the magnitude is retarded and irrelevant.

Nelly was an earthquake. Rocky was an earthquake. That's all I'm saying.

I've never met anyone in my life that thought asap was anything special at all.

That's fine. I'm sure there are people who give no fukks about Rocky. But that comment is irrelevant to this discussion.

How is your take on "Rocky being special or not" in any way related to this statement: No affiliations with a major artist, no appearance on a previous album or remix. They both came out with songs that blew up.

Can we keep this discussion on topic, please? Thank you.

Just my way of saying he never really blew in the sense where he should be mentioned with nelly.
What song of his are you saying "blew"

It charted no where and has no certifications,it didnt blow.
Jibbs has a platinum single with no feature.
Mims has a double plat single with no features. #factsonly

:snoop:

so the only way to blow up in hip hop now is how platinum your single is? Especially in the era of the Internet?

Is that what you're saying?
