360 deals are the devil. as if the fukkin labels weren't taking enough of the artists money they have to take part of everything?

No, they're not....

360's get a bad rap, cause of all these dumb ass artists who get locked into them...with no understanding of what they truly encompass.

Look at Currensy, he's been signed to Cash Money and No Limit....did the indy thing, but now he has a 360 Deal with Atlantic...and doing better than he ever was.

if it weren't for some of these 360 deals, rappers wouldn't even have all these sources of income to even have cuts taken out by the label.

Chief Keef’s deals all depend on album sales. If “Finally Rich” doesn’t sell at least 250,000 albums by December 2013, Interscope has the right to pull the plug on subsequent album releases — two albums and a compilation of hits, according to the deal.
In a separate three-year deal to establish Chief Keef’s record label “Glory Boyz Entertainment” — GBE for short — Interscope Records forked over another $440,000 advance. That agreement calls for both Chief Keef and his manager, Rovan Manuel, to each be paid $180,000. The deal calls for 15-percent of Chief Keef’s advance to be put in his trust fund, according to court papers.

Today as a new artist there is too much pressure to sell albums. Singles are the way to go. As Nelly said put out mixtapes and sell singles on iTunes, amazon, and your website. You won't get any radio play bc the major record lables OWN them. BUT YOU OWN YOUR PRODUCT.

ehhh, 50 has classic mixtape material. He was pretty dope back in the day, no way does he deserve to be compared to Nelly.

nellys impact is just as significant, maybe even greater...plus he can still get a release date unlike fif

Vanilla Ice had impact. What's your point? 50 revolutionized the mixtape game, Nelly's lasting impact is what? That your sister still comes out dancing to "Hot In here" on her Tuesday morning shift at the strip club? Fukk outta here lil nikka
