Most red states for instance have laws preventing municipal ISP. So the city can’t come together to make their own internet service cause ISPs bytched and bribed and got laws created in their favor. Creating an ISP out of thin air is also not a palatable idea for most investors with the cash to do so as it requires a long term view for ROI. No, you will not see many ISP crop up even if the demand is there

wtf would anyone be cool with cable like packages for internet. WE DROPPED CABLE FOR A REASON.

This is a major reason why the cable companies and major ISP conglomerates are pissed off and lobbied ajit pai for this bullshyt because by their projections they lost so much money with just hosting the internet the cable section of their packages was their money makers but 1000's of people are cutting the cord. So they seek to attempt to either CONTROL or cripple the internet. most of this shyt was their plan all along. the internet had grown too powerful and too much of an equalizer.... Always count on the other man's greed.

They have stated many times that they failed with the internet by making it too open and they have ALWAYS wanted to control it.

Net neutrality stopped that... albeit temporarily.

Now the list of domains you can access is going to look alot like the list of cable channels you have access to
