Never watched DBZ....EDIT: watched all dbz....what's next?

Watch Kai...no-filler version of the OG DBZ up to Cell Saga. Dragonball was a good prequel and it's more than just about Goku in that series.

I'd MAYBE recommend going up to Buu saga...which is the end of DBZ, but the Kai version hasn't been done.

Just keep watching Kai, don't listen to these guys telling you to watch the Funimation version. They're viewing the series through pure nostalgia. For most people who like that it's most likely cuz it was the first legit action cartoon they saw when they were 10-13. You're 27 and never watched it before, I can almost guarantee you're gonna hate everything, the dialogue, filler, music, EVERYTHING.

Kai isn't great to say the least but it's the best you got for DBZ other than the manga.

BTW, if you like DBZ I would recommend Dragonball. It's more light hearted and humorous but I think it's a lot better than DBZ

first page had me feeling I was in some parallel universe lol

the original Funi DBZ dub is one of the worst anime dubs ever. Looney Tunes-esque voice work (King Kai is a joke), censored to insane lengths ("another dimension" ), stupid ass jokes they added for no reason ("Krillin's in da house!!!!" ) etc

nikkas are saying Falconer's music was dope because of Vegeta's theme and I get that. That track is hard, but MOST of his shyt was goofy-sounding synthesized trash that detracted more from scenes than anything

even ignoring all that, if you watch the original run as a grown man with other priorities and shyt you'll never finish, it's absurdly long with filler out the ass. You can watch all of Kai in a reasonable amount of time and it's still the same shyt

Don't listen to Spud, DBZ Kai is a more streamlined experience of DBZ. Cuts out a lot of the riff raff, if you're trying actually get through the series in a month or so, you should watch Kai.

If you're committed to watching it and experiencing it without any regard for how much time you put into it, then watch the original DBZ.

Then after all of that is done, and you really enjoyed DBZ, then go back and watch DB

if u watched it on tv then u really lost of course wont be as good gotta watch it on disc its more uncut now it wont be as bloody as the OG DBZ and the music wont be as good

but i like kai far more better and its not even close to me for these 2 simple reason

NO FILLERS (yelling for several damn eps shyt is get straight to the point hell ep 20 already in namek while OG DBZ i think is where sayains just arrived or gohan still training for christ sake )
TRANSLATION ( the translations is vastly different to the OG dbz and its way way better its like watching it new and ur like i didnt know he said that or felt that way)

I'm 27 and alot if my friends (shyt basically all) grew up on this and I watched the first 30 eps or so with my daughter recently.. (just got done with the goku vs vageta battle)

I just wanna know how should I continue? I know there are 100s of eps . Should I just watch them all?.. go back and watch Dragon ball? I just got the Dragon Ball z Kai ep 1-65 ... so ima Continue from their for now

Just keep watching from where you're at.

DBZ > Dragonball (and you can always go back and watch Dragonball after you're finished)

And as you continue to watch, hopefully you'll learn to appreciate the Prince more to the point where you'll spell his name correctly. Blasphemous & careless errors like this can get you negged around these parts .

These other nikkas are goin off about the soundtrack and the voices and nostalgia of the original,but you say you didn't watch it as a kid so I doubt that same magic will be there for you
Kai has better script and less clunky and awkward
Personally,I don't fukk with kai after Frieza as the filler becomes more fun to watch at that point

The original ocean/funi dub > all the redubs that came after it. yea it was censored to high heaven but the voice work was top notch and the score was pretty slick in it's own way. Plus it's the version I think most ppl in the states were introduced to, including myself.

if u want the ultimate English Dbz experience you need to watch those first 3 movies they did because they kept the original japanese BGM. that combined with the ocean voices >>>>

but if you can, watch the original jap version. I believe they have them on Hulu now. the absolute best way to watch the show. Better voice acting, better music.

Personally I'd roll with Kai uncut.

The original was fine when I was a kid watching it everyday after school, but just has too much filler and time-wasting to be marathoning. Kai has better voices as well (I dare anybody to claim that Frieza's voice in the original dub is better than his voice in Kai).
