Because theres no efficacy and thus shouldn't be promoted as doing more than what it does.

Next thing you know, gullible docs will be out here suggesting non-effective treatments and having their patients putting stock in shyt that might get them killed

So?

AS A TREAMENT...it doesn't do much.

So the goal is to speak accurately to it's effects.

Anything else is reckless.

No it isn't. As a treatment, it is meant to make people feel better, regardless of what empirical science says.

I would find it suspect if any acupuncturist would claim that acupuncture could fix a herniated disc.

Also I'm still not understanding this concept of fake and real injuries. I think you might be confusing what exactly acupuncture can be used for, which kind of adds to why some people think it doesn't work. They're using it for situations where all the acupuncture in the world will not help and then getting mad and thinking well...this doesn't work.

You clearly aren't spending time to research acupuncture yourself to know what it does but continue on with your ignorance.

You know what they call alternative medicine that works?

Medicine.
To me, alternative medicine is medicine that has been scientifically proven to work, but doctors aren't sure why or how much Is effective. Like massage therapy, a lot of herbal remedies, therapists etc. The premise of a remedy working must not in my view rely on something unestablished. This acupuncture relies on and asks you to believe in floating dragons. There is just as much testimony for as there is against, a telltale sign of placebo.

no it's real my uncle used to have severe back pain but that acupuncture shyt helped, he got no more back pain.
I believe that it is a case by case basis as well as the skill of the Acupuncturist and what is being treated and what duration and level of treatment. I was involved in a very horrific car accident as a result I had pain so debilitating that I could not walk or function I lived like that for 5 years. I endured their physical therapy, Pain meds and a possible surgery nothing worked. I eventually want to acupuncture had treatments once a week for over a month seen no result almost gave up gave up woke up one day about 8 weeks into my treatments and the pain was gone. I continued to go to acupuncture for months once a week the pain stayed gone. There have been a few weeks in a row and the pain has returned not as bad but returned, I then went back and the pain disappeared again. I go once a week it does not return. I now receive acupuncture for many other health purposes and I am overall healthier especially brain function and stress reduction. The thing with acupuncture and other medical or western health treatments is that no one person(s) body responds to any treatment the same, so it may very well be ineffective to some people they may be the people they choose for these studies you know how these "scientists" are not above using biased and judgmental corrupt studies and results. Remember that acupuncture is primary for neuro, nerve, gland and lymphatic system issues. There are a lot of shady practitioners out there that advertise it as a fix all for everything and then people assume it does not work because of this. Let's assume that it is an placebo effect there are hundreds of studies out there that confirm the effectiveness of the placebo effect as a curative form of medicine as it has been verified that many health issues are catalyzed by psychological issues, there for it still would hold a place in curative medicine.

Nope. In fact I can literally recommend a few clinics in BK, one that I attend regularly. And they would never tell you that acupuncture can fix a herniated disc.

What it CAN do is lower inflammation in the area, and reduce the pain as a result of the herniated disc, which in turn accelerates the healing process.

But a herniated disc is a herniated disc....it's more than just removing the symptoms that come as a result, you would need to do exercises and other things that will strengthen your back like maybe physical therapy or something of that nature.
