your description of pac certainly fits the same situation of Mr malcom x, mike tyson and many more figures!

Cube was an artist..nothing more or less! have you watched the flick fear of black hat??

im not going to let a comedy movie sway me away from the truth...

yes Cube is a artist and he was expressing how he felt at that time.it wasnt no secret that the east kept sending shots at the west in the early to mid 90s.they was dissing the west before the Death row Bad boy beef.pac wasnt he first to stand up and "Ride" on the east.

2pac reason for riden was becase he got shot on the east.cube reason was he was sick of the "keep it real kid" bullshyt and the media.

Cube had a valid reason to ride on the east when he did.he was sick of the east coast media playing him and other west coast artist like some chumps.then there was the "keep it real kid" slogan the east coast had making it look like the west coast was fakin the funk.pac was a lost soul.smart, yes but lost as fukk.suge had his hand up 2pacs ass like a hand puppet.

The east coast media that have him 5 and then 4.5 mics and had his face plastered on their mag every other month?

Cube was desperate to stay relevant and shamefully piggybacked on the coastal war bullshyt.

He's a sucker and forever will be behind that.

And who are these mythical east coasters that "talked down" on the west?

"I admire true nikkas like Dre and snoop"

Erick Sermon and Too $hort - You remind me of my fat gold chain

Ol dirty featuring Eiht & e 40

Menace & Boyz in the hood were smash hit movies in NYC

Ice T put Lord Finesse on and rolled with Donald D and Bronx Style Bob

People actually thought Cypress were from NY or Philly off the phuncky feel one video

Masta Ace had his cousin "J Dawg" from LA theme throughout the entire Sittin On Chrome album.

Every backpacker was playing Pharcyde and Hiero.

Threats album was low key worshipped by NYC beat heads

cmon man you know how the east coast rolled in the 90s when the west was shining.they was hating the same way they tried to hate on the south.the east was on that "keep it real kid","self destruction","the sun rise in the east","we started hiphop so we are the best",bring ya 9 i bring my rhymes","fukk compton",thats why cube and them started sayin "the sun sets on the west","self destruction dont pay the fukkin rent","we started this gangsta shyt",and on the song New york critics used the sample "keepin it real"then you had the waynes bros make a movie just the way the east views the west coast. it was funny though but that was the nail in the coffin for west coast gangsta rap cause you couldnt look at a gangsta rapper without thinkin of Loc Dogg lol.you had people tryin to click up and stop the bullshyt but overall the east was hating hard on the west.your from that era dont play with me man.

I swear I never thought of any hating. All that stuff Jeru and Blahzay did was more "hey, we're hot too" to me. I never made the correlation between "bring your 9s ill bring my rhymes" as referring to the west any more than the thug shyt in the east. I guess his album title could be offensive if you're crazy sensitive.

I think the west was always wild reactionary. Sold allllllll the records and killed everybody in your rhymes but cared about a Blahzay Blahzay record?

yup,as crazy as it seems the west just wanted to be excepted and be part of hiphop.the west loved east coast music but the west felt that they wasnt getting the same love back.thats why the west kept lashing out even though they were selling records like crazy they just wanted the east to show them the same love and respect the west showed the east in the 80s.thats why when pac talk about cube just tryin to ride the W wave i just shake my head cause that east/west thing was goin on when pac was doing the humpty dance.

So 'come clean' was the impetus to all that Cube/WC/Mack 10 response stuff? That's hilarious. They made an entire supergroup in response to a guy who didn't even go gold?

I swear I knew none of this. I never heard Mack 10 or WCs curb serving album.

I think the east was getting really interesting at that point and was just getting their confidence in making cutting edge rap back. The sample on 'west up' kinda illustrates how played out that old gangsta sound was by 1995-6 in light of the newer G Funk sounds. Especially since Spice 1 owned that sample for all intents and purposes.

When did Pac get shot again...1994? To me that's when the shyt started. Him getting shot, going to jail....biggie releasing 'who shot ya?'....Pac signing with Suge.

All the Westside Connection shyt seemed absurd to me. I never connected the Jeru dots. I knew Cube was butt hurt from Common who maybe he perceived as an east sympathizer and Cypress Hill who he seemed not as brazen when addressing.

I just think Cube and the old guards brand of rap was kinda over by then and he knew it. Dre, Snoop, Cypress....even Tha Alkaholiks all seemed much fresher and current IMO.

YOOOOOO! Why are these idiots doing the east coast stomp, specifically Treach's version, while dissing?

And ANOTHER 'flashlight' sample. THAT'S the shyt that had to go when the actual talent started surfacing.
