:jbhmm:why does conspiracy guy support the government issuing everybody an id card used to track them like sheeple?

Maybe because calling someone a "conspiracy guy" illustrates your tone deafness and shortcomings on understanding my POV. I'm all for government and political stability. What I constantly question and highlight is corruption and nefarious actions by elements of various entities that have influence over the population. They use to call professional people who did that activity......JOURNALISTS. Now the corporate mainstream highly educated ones are paid to be cult member concierge shills.

I'm the biggest supporter of the Bill of Rights up here. I'm all for government.....abiding by the contract to protect the rights of people and not implenent fukkboi shenanigans. I vote because I hope we elect politicians that uphold their responsibility to make sure the government is working for the best interest of the people and not those same elements in those various entities. That's the idea anyway.

So now you lost the debate too. I'm like Mayweather doing two fights a day.

Yes you read it.

Take your L, and I'll see you soon when you respond with further comments for me to shred like a cheese grater. :cook:

Allow me to re-iterate my previous post.

Also, this is particularly laughable:

Despite your claim, you happen to be so intellectually incurious that you don't question a law that was enacted to solve a problem that doesn't exist.

You essentially ignored this:

When governments enact laws that target problems that don't exist, you have to ask why.

Get all the way the f*ck out of here with this bullsh*t.:heh::cambybp:

So you are saying illegals never vote, or dead people are not on voter rolls, or people have never voted twice ever?? There are no groups out here pushing to get non-citizens to vote right? :sas2:

That's what you want this board to believe right???

Let me know if you want to have some nuances and clarify your statement...:sas1:...before I have to really :cook: you.

So you are saying illegals never vote,

Not to a statistically significant degree.

dead people are not on voter rolls

They are.

people have never voted twice ever?

Commonly? No. Ever? No I'm not saying it has never happened.

That's what you want this board to believe right?

Quit being disingenuous. None of these things happen often enough to warrant voter ID laws as a solution.

I stand by my earlier assertion. You don't understand the larger context.

before I have to really :cook: you.

You've never actually won a debate since I've been on this board. People just stop responding to you. :heh:

I noticed you missed replying to one of my questions....are there groups out there trying to get illegal immigrants or non-citizens to vote, yes or no? :sas1:

Why are you scared of people having ID to vote? :mindblown: Please stop with racist Repblicans. There has been racism in the country since 1619. Having ID to vote is for everyone.

You keep say statistically insignificant.
How is making sure people are who they say are hurting the process of voting,..........unless you want the system to be open to abuse? :patrice:

Telling people to get ID to vote is securing the process from fraud and providing a level of transparency. Is it going to be 100% effective, no. Are people going to try and abuse it anyway, yes.

You Lost. Again.

I noticed you missed replying to one of my questions

It's not really that important of a question, but I'll humor you.

are there groups out there trying to get illegal immigrants or non-citizens to vote, yes or no?

Yes.

Non-citizens/illegal immigrants are not the same and should not be conflated. If you are, you're being disingenuous.

What's your point?

Why are you scared of people having ID to vote?

Voter fraud has pretty much always been rare, even when voting required no ID. The process of weeding out those ineligible to vote is what voter registration is for.

Voter ID laws only prevent in-person voting fraud, which has occurence rates between 0.0003 percent and 0.0025 percent. (Source)

Please stop with racist Repblicans.

...But that's the problem.

There has been racism in the country since 1619. Having ID to vote is for everyone.

Ask your grandparents if they needed photo ID to vote when they were your age. :panthersafe:

How is making sure people are who they say are hurting the process of voting,..........unless you want the system to be open to abuse? :patrice:

The abuses that voter ID laws claim to rectify aren't the abuses that need to be addressed. See the current situation in Florida with emailed ballots from panhandle counties. Most voter fraud claims are bogus.

You Lost. Again.

That's cute.

You think that declaring me the loser actually wins you a debate. :bpumad:

So you are sitting here telling the board you strongly believe and support, no one should be required to have an ID to go vote?

Even though people have 2 years to get a government ID?

How is a poll worker suppose to verify or have a standard protocol for verifying you are who you say you are when you show up at the polls? :gucci:

Please tell us how the average eligible voter should interface with the poll worker in order to access the voting machines, if they don't show ID:jbhmm:??

On the day of, specifically? Yes, that's what I'm saying. For registration? ID is needed, and we also should not severely restrict the types of ID that can be accepted.

You're changing the question, though.

Passing a law that prevents a narrow definition of fraud that occurs 0.0025% of the time, and is more likely to disenfranchise minority voters rather than secure our elections against fraud should be opposed.

Even though people have 2 years to get a government ID?

I'm not discouraging people from getting government ID in general.

How is a poll worker suppose to verify or have a standard protocol for verifying you are who you say you are when you show up at the polls? :gucci:

Before I answer this question: did you vote in this most recent election, or in 2016? If so, what protocol did the poll-workers use then?

Having ID does not disenfranchise minority voters. That's makes it seem like minorities are incapable of going through the same process whites go through to obtain ID. This process can be done in less than 2 years and inexpensively. :dahell:

Every election I've voted in from NC to DC to MD to TX have all asked for ID.

  1. You didn't answer my question. Did you vote in 2016 and 2018?

  2. You could have voted in three out of four of those places with no ID, as long as you were registered. :heh:

Just because they asked for it doesn't mean it was required :heh:

It used to be you could bring your utility bill and be allowed to vote. There's no reason why that needed to change. Especially when,

Passing a law that prevents a narrow definition of fraud that occurs 0.0025% of the time, and is more likely to disenfranchise minority voters rather than secure our elections against fraud should be opposed.

Why pass a law to "fix" an issue that never had any impact in voting outcomes in the first place?
