They just have to be consistent with the calls. All that fake suplex shyt has to go, that's definitely not football. That style of tackling doesn't make the league "tougher" it's just a replacement for the psychos who can't headhunt anymore.
The fact that there isn't a fight after every hip-drop tackle is insane.

the nfl saw the Pollard injury. the Mark Andrews injury on the tackle. Pat Mahomes getting injured in the playoffs vs the Jags. then saw the college injury of Jordan Travis from that tackle and saw it needed to be out the game

Terrible decision imo. You can't control how you bring down weight when trying to bring down a player, when you're in pursuit or tackling from an angle. Ironically as a defender you just have to accept these penalties. The alternative is really not being able to make a tackle.

The biggest reason. Same way that Brady injury lead to rulebook/penalty change for way a QB can be hit below the knee.

Good. Not dirty, just crazy unsafe
No disrespect bro

I ain’t never met anyone who played defense in their life who is tryna break someone leg by doing the hip drop

It’s literally a technique they taught us, wrap up and drop your weight

shyt like this just makes defenders think twice before making a play, which ironically gets people hurt more

That tackle happens 1000s of times during the season and we only get two handful of "catastrophic" injuries (in college and in the pros). Hate to sound callous but Travis should've slid or got down instead of fighting for extra yardage. The onus being put on the defense to do the "right play" instead of the opposite is BS but fukk it, aim for the knees.
