NFL changes PAT

this is stupid.

People equate touchdowns with 7 points.

When it's late in a 7pt game and a team has made a dramatic comeback and scores a TD, the fans subconsciously consider the game tied b/c the extra point is a formailty.

Fans are gonna be riled up, excited......only for a kicker to botch the point and ruin the entire comeback.

Should have put the 2 point conversion at the 1. What team doesn't have a kicker that can make 32 yard field goals in their sleep? At least at the 1, strategy and risk taking comes into play. It's like adding the 3-point like, the game would really be affected. Is the kick really anymore difficult now?

So what that makes it a 35yard kick? That's not a chip shot anymore, there's going to be a whole lot of fukkery. What's the statistics on making 35yard fg?

I think I heard the current extra point distance was made 99% of the time and from the new proposed distance it was made around 90% of the time

I don't like having to declare what you're trying before the play starts.

It's not a major gripe, as I don't recall many fake kick's for 2, or botched holds for 2. Overall, I like the change.

minimally. kickers will kick in the high 90% from the center of the field still

What it does is reduce the risk of a 2pt conversion. Damn Chip Kelly stays leaving ninjas in past tense.

i'm just sayinig, when a playoff game or something is on the line, and a team has worked all 4th quarter for a dramatic comeback.....and the kicker botches the extra point & blows the game, it's gonna be bad for the fans/viewers.
