But now it's officially cool to hit a QB who doesn't even have the ball, cause he's running on the field?
if hes pretending to carry the ball, I dont see a single problem with that. seriously breh. you want defenses to give cavity searches before they are allowed to tackle players now ? :wtf:

and Im a Niners fan as well (if u aint know by now :heh:)

defense is already short-changed as it is, now its gotta worry about whether or not they'll get a penalty on a running qb ? :wtf:
No. Not a running qb. A qb without the ball. Say Kaep hands off to gore. And runs a bootleg fake.

Well if he don't tell the whole world that he doesn't have the ball, Matthews can hit him 20 mins later, in the knee, and not get any flag

What you think bout to happen to all these qbs?

again, if hes faking a bootleg or pretending to carry the ball, how do you expect the defense to react if they think he still has the ball ? go and ask him whether mr quarterback has gotten rid of football yet ? :heh: come on

playing defense is reactive game. its tough as fukk already. you already have waay too many phantom ass flags for roughing the passer

Read the article. It clearly says rule changes for 2013. What youre talking about. That's like handoffs and what not.

The read option is shotgun or something, I fake it to my rb and pull it back and run outside. The next play I do the exact same thing. Except I actually give it to my rb......

Now if I put my damn hands up, they know I don't have the ball. So what good is me running outside to fake like I got it? They've eliminated the whole "fake" cause I gotta put my damn hands up.

If I was to attempt to fake it last year, you hit me, that's 15 yards. I'm a qb and I don't have the ball. So defenders would have to second guess or at least hesitate and make sure I had it. Which is why it's so hard to stop

Now they saying if you attempt that fake, they don't have to worry bout shyt. They can just lay your qb out whether he got the ball or not. So running the OPTION portion of it, just lost the whole point of the design. Which is to FAKE out the defense

I'm talking about refs last season telling qbs to do this during games to PROTECT THE QUARTERBACK. They decided to make it an official rule...it wasn't before. But they were telling read option quarterbacks to do it so that they don't take cheapshots. It was to the benefit of the quarterback.

Stop being a chicken little.

breh this is not a rule change. The refs were just reiterating what they decided on last year. If you follow the Redskins you could see after the Bengals game, RG3 started throwing his hands up after he handed the ball off to AlMo to show defenses he didnt have the ball. Nothing to see here

Nah I just want the same shyt we had last year. I really wanted to see how defenses would step up and evolve to match. Not see the comish come save them by saying its cool to hit nikkas who don't have the ball

Can you tackle a receiver with no ball? Why don't they let you just tackle the whole offense before the play starts just to make sure. Since we don't have to make sure the guy has the ball anymore. It's not like they carry the ball in a coach bag. It's either in his hands or its not

ok so youre saying players will do it on purpose if the qb isnt explicitly signaling it ? I finally got your point.
tbh I doubt it.

:what:
Because in none of those instances are those respective players deceiving the defense into thinking they're the ball carrier. Is it really that difficult to understand this simple concept?

Let me get this straight. You guys want these QBs to continue deceiving defenses, tricking players and even referees into thinking the RB has the ball when the QB does, and at other times, thinking the QB has the ball when the RB does. You guys want the QB to start fukkin with the big boys and get involved in the running game. You guys want to see your QB juke the shyt out of a DE/OLB and run 30 yards for a 1st down.

But you guys don't want your QB getting blown up when he either has the football, or he's pretending to have the football and carrying out a play? What kind of p*ssy shyt is that. If you act like you have the football, then be prepared to get hit.

Brady, Brees, Manning, Rodgers, and the rest of the pocket-passing QB's don't do this gimmick shyt, so they're afforded protection once they've released the football because it's CLEAR and OBVIOUS to players, referees, and fans that they no longer have the football. But with these new QBs, it's almost impossible to tell immediately whether they have the football or not. So your solution is to just make them invincible and enforce 15 yard penalties every time a DE/OLB reacts on the QB and puts him in the ground? :wtf:

“One of the things that the referees have told us is that when these quarterbacks carry out the fakes, they lose their right as a quarterback, a pocket-passing quarterback, the protection of a quarterback. So with that, you do have to take your shots on the quarterback, and obviously they’re too important to their offense.

Lets put this in drop back passing terms....

Do you know what a bootleg fake is? Tom Brady and a lot of other pocket passers to do it. Do you know what a play action play is? They do that to.

Do you know why it's effective? Cause to run run run, then pull back and throw. It fakes them out. Or you do the opposite. Play action a bunch, then really and hand off. Again you're faking them out

If someone on defense falls for it and still hits the qb, they get a penalty. So even tho you got to hit the qb, you get in trouble for fukking up and falling for the fake

The RULE. not the suggestion is now, if you are trying to fake like you have the ball. You know. Like a handoff, but you still bootleg like Aaron Rodgers does. The defense no longer has to think. You might have the ball, you might not, fukk it, lets murder this guy. And no penalty.

Clay Matthews is on live tv, after bounty gate, explaining how it seems to him, they plan on trying to take heads off cause they no longer have to worry about a flag.

They are literally forcing the offense to show their hands of who has the ball and who doesn't??? What part of the game is that?? Should the defense have to show who's blitzing and who's not?? So they don't fake out the linemen when they zone blitz??

It was a cop out by the league. They couldn't stop it. They tried dirty tactics last year. Now they just legalized those tactics. But I'm just a fan. READ THE ARTICLES. The coaches don't even understand the shyt!!

This is a good rule. All of the recent rules have benefitted the offense, so it's good to see the defenses catch a break. If a QB is going to try to deceive the defender into thinking he has the ball. They should be able to hit him.

:what:breh wtf are you on about?

The most important part of the read option play is BEFORE the handoff. That is where you see all the misdirection. RG3 started throwing his hands up AFTER he handed the ball off to AlMo. His job in fooling the defense is already done. If the DE/OLB guessed wrong, then Lynch/AlMo/Gore are already gone for 10+ yards. The read option just needs the DE/OLB to freeze for that split second before the possible exchange to open things up.

Defenders are expected to pull up in damn near less than a second once a QB releases the ball for a pass, or it's a penalty. Now they will be expected to do the same when RG3/Kaep/RW throws their hands up and out after a read-option hand-off. Along as those boys adopt that instinct, theyll be fine.
