folks wanna say these teams shouldnt have to go on the road
okay, but i ask, if you team is as good as you say it is shouldnt you be able to go into someone else place and beat them?

yes homefield matters in some places, but thats why you play 16 games and you win your division, you get the homefield

Okay what if two teams in the same division both are 12-4 and one lost out on some common opponents BS tiebreaker. You think it's fair they playing a 8-8 division winner on the road where the elements clearly affect the games. Clear disadvantage.

fukk it just make each conference into 2 divisions with 8 teams in each division. You play each team in your division twice and fill in the other two games with whatever random matchups you want. Or just go straight conference have every team play every other team in their conference once and one inter-conference game. Or just have teams play their division rivals 3 or even 4 times per season so that the majority of your games are in the division. If you want to give divisions this level of importance (automatic playoff berth AND home game) then you should be playing the majority of your games against your division. It's silly to give this level of importance to groupings of 4 teams that only play each other 6 times out of 16.

So what if this scenario happens
what they are 4 teams with the same record, who gets the wild card then

also explain how that 7-9 Seahawks who won their division
beat 11-5 saints AT HOME in the playoffs

but they were the better team right

They have tiebreakers. I'd assume they'd bring them out.

The Seahawks won because they were at home.

These teams should even be in the playoffs! Green Bay is going to lose again.

That's why NFL have tiebreakers :mindblown:

Seattle have a clear home-field advantage. Seasons afterwards prove that fact.

See the bolded

It's called homefield advantage for a reason. Seattle should be able to go into any of the lower seeds stadiums and beat them right? However they won't have to and rightfully so because they are being rewarded for their season with homefield throughout. You can't acknowledge that homefield is an advantage and a reward and try to act like it doesn't have any bearing on the outcome of a game. Any team is gonna be more likely to win at home.

What is the point of going out and beating an NFL quality opponent 12 times if you are just gonna be punished for having a 13 win team in your grouping while another team gets rewarded with a guaranteed spot and homefield just because nobody in their grouping can muster more than 8 wins? Going out and getting the job done during the season >>> than being in a sucky grouping of teams.

They had home field because they were division champs, the record didn't matter, they are division champs and lived up to that title

How you gonna have a tie breaker

when you got the top seeds already, and then four other teams with the same records spread out across the NFC west east and north

I just sonned you

If you got the top teams seeded already

and there's 4 teams in different divisions in the NFC with the same records, how they gonna decide who gets the nod
tell me that

if you just go off team records across the board you will have this problem more often than not

there are divisions and division titles for a reason, stop trying to fukk up the game and changing shyt they did that enough already

how long has football in january been affected by the elements? you know teams have gone on the road and played in terrible conditions throughout history

i can see about the tie breakers stuff because they are rather crazy, but if both teams 12-4 exactly how tough were the schedules and how good are the teams?

The 215
I don't feel like checking the whole thread but if we not scrapping divisions and just playing every team in the conference every year I don't know how this works. That's the only way the schedule would be somewhat fair since divisions would mean nothing anymore. Maybe somebody has came up with a better schedule I haven't saw yet since I haven't read past the 3rd page.
