The fact that he was not outright terrible after getting off the couch five years removed from the grind is enough to say Brady was right in his comments.
He played like a glorified game manager im generally confused what game y'all was watching. It's not like he was making sideline boundary throws or something crazy. Most his passes was 5 yards or less.

Bucs are 1-and-done in the playoffs if they win the division.

Depending on the last couple of games, Minnesota might have figured out how to run their offense, crazy they tried to have McCarthy focus on mechanics during the season, rather than work on them during the off-season.

Colts are fukked this year and are in a weird spot on what to do with Daniel Jones.

The number-one job of the QB is to manage the game so that his team has the best chance to win.

I never said he looked spectacular. I didn't say he looked good. But for a 44-year-old man who hadn't played in five years, with roughly one week of reps going into Seattle and having the Colts in position to win... they didn't ask much of him, but he did what was asked and he helped them get the lead with 47 seconds left.

He did his job at a level he shouldn't have been able to considering the circumstances.

Holder already gaslighting the rational fans, lol. An all-time collapse is still an all-time collapse regardless of bringing in a 44 year old QB as their little pet project. Maybe they can bring in Marino next so he can get some pats on the back.

Yeah two things:

  • I was never a believer in this team, but Indy really believed they had a shot...they needed to acquire a new backup QB as soon as AR got injured. At that point you had DJ who gets injured a lot, AR who can't return until next year and Leonard who cannot be trusted. They put themselves in a situation where everything relied on DJ staying healthy and continuing to play well. :russ:

  • They're treating Rivers like a fat high school basketball manager who final gets subbed in for 2 minutes on senior night. "Oh hell did so well for a 44 year old grandpa!" Gaslighting is definitely the right word.

Pat McAfee was another one on the bullshyt with the Rivers countdown. I don't usually watch his stuff but I know he'll be celebrating Rivers today. A lot of these Colts fans just want to unwind after a long week of living in Indiana and are happy to accept the bullshyt. Can't even be "happy" about the losses because we don't own the first. :mjcry:

If I went out there and played poorly, would people say:

For a man who's never played a down in the NFL, has played Madden 26 a few times and had little reps going into Seattle,he did his job at a level he shouldn't have been able to!

?

He's complicit in this and I'm not babying him. He gets evaluated at the same standard of any other QB.

Such a wide open year it really wouldn’t surprise me who ends up in the SB especially in the AFC

Rams at their best are definitely above everyone else

You have never played a professional football game as a QB. Rivers, before this, had put together a career that's probably getting him to Canton.

For all the talk about how the game has evolved, defenses have evolved, etc. he didn't embarrass himself. I didn't expect him to finish the game, nor did I believe he was a better short-term option than say... a free agent like Taylor Heinicke or Desmond Ridder, etc.

They picked him because of his previous past with Steichen/he was the last competent QB they've had in Indy.

You don't have to baby him, but the situation under which he played is entirely different from every other situation that all the other QBs who played this past week sans maybe Brady Cook for NYJ.

What Rivers put out there against Seattle reflects more on today's QBs and Seattle as opposed to Rivers himself. I don't find that reflection to be positive.

If Shough is actually the guy for NOLA for the next 5-10 years -- he's old for a rookie, but he's playing the most protected position in the game. He can have a nice career regardless of that -- then the Saints are a youth movement away from taking over the division again, unless Carolina figures it out.

It SHOULD be Atlanta, but I don't know what they're doing down there.

Rivers had a poor game and Indy's offense was inefficient overall. Seattle's defense bottled up Taylor, limited Indy to 220 yards and only gave up 16 points.

The only thing saving this game is that Seattle scored 18, and that they needed a GW FG to get there.

I don't understand how this is a reflection on other QBs. Most QBs would get roasted for putting those #s up. Yes he can read a defense better than a 22 year old but if that's all it took we could put Steichen back there.

Hell if Davis mills put up those stats he would be shyt on, im generally confused why rivers is being held to different standards lol.

Because that was his first pro game in 5 years. All the other QBs are playing, practicing and game-planning every week.

Mahomes is done winning rings.

Even without the injury, his play has been declining and defenses have finally figured him out

Yeah, I could tell you were never onboard with this team and while it kinda frustrated me, I get it. The regime has a whole history of not getting it done when it matters the most, with zero wins in what was arguably the worst division in the NFL, so more than understandable for fans to be skeptical.

I’ve been out on them since the Chiefs loss, which generally rarely ever happens in the regular season. But the way in which we went out in the second half told me everything about this Colts team.

Saw a clip of Philip before the game yesterday and had to do a double take. He looked like an OC/QB coach. fukkin’ ridiculous. Congrats on not looking like complete dogshyt after five years of no play I guess, but our team still lost and I’m not the moral victories type.
