Sorry breh, but I disagree. I watched every single game he ever played for the Sens, so I think I have a good idea of what Emery brings to the table as a goalie, and I think executives around the league did as well.
You can be an off ice distraction if you are a great player and win games. It's why if Subban was put on the market by the Habs, teaming would be lining up to get him. But if you're a middle of the road guy, which Emery was, nope.

I agree with you that Subban is getting a raw deal, and race probably contributes to it at all, as does the culture of hockey that doesn't promote individuality.
But as someone who followed the Ray Emery saga pretty closely, I think he got what he had coming to him. Hell, even he says, in retrospect, it was a good learning experience.
