And I remember when nick hit that gw 3 vs boston in like 95 and was runnin down the court woofin

He was one of my favs in the mid 90's with the Lakers. Nick the Quick.

That mid 90's Lakers was Showtime....even tho ppl have forgotten those squads.

I remember this dude torching my Kings when he was with Dallas. It was like he was dancing with the ball how he crossed dudes up.

They did him dirty when he was a Laker though, trading him away when they went on their three-peat run.

Other than those who ran the treatment center that helped Herren turn his life around, the only people mentioned in Unguarded who actually kept Herren from destroying himself were Antonio McDyess and Nick Van Exel, veterans on the Nuggets team that drafted the guard. During training camp, McDyess and Van Exel pulled Herren aside and told him that they knew all about his struggles with addiction, and that he wouldn’t be partying at all that season. Every night, he would be checking in with them, and when the Nuggets were on the road, he would be joining them for dinner instead of going out drinking.

And it apparently worked. McDyess and Van Exel did what no coach, no family member, no friend, no mentor had been able to do for Herren: they held him accountable. When the Nuggets sent Herren to the Celtics, that support system was gone and Herren reverted.

Nick the Quick one of my Lakers of all time. As matter of fact that roster 94 -96 they had with Ceballos, Eddie Jones, Divac, Elden Cambell, George lynch ,Sedale and Pig miller are my favorite Laker Squads for nostalgic reasons and one of the more underrated fun and exciting teams in the 90's. I Remember being so mad broke up 4 some of Jones, van exel,Kobe and Shaq by getting rid jones and Nick after all four made the All star team in 98.

My 2nd favorite PG of all-time behind Magic.

I was so mad when the Lakers got rid of him. I remember him saying the problem wasn't with him but with the guy with the white hair (Del Harris). Next thing you know they're firing Del Harris and I'm like We could have kept Van Exel!!!

When he hit those shots against the Spurs I was running around the house, knocking stuff over. Went outside right after dinner to practice shooting a running 3 like Van Exel. Hahaha
