I am not trying to find excuses for Nico. What I am saying is that these franchise player trades definitely have to be OK'd by the ownership. No way they just gave him a green light to do whatever trade he wants. They probably bought into whatever BS Nico was telling them because somehow someway he's still employed. If I were the Mavs. I would have fired him next day after the trade.
Every trade of this magnitude has to be run by ownership. I don’t even know why this is being put forth as an argument.
They did buy into what Nico was telling them, because they’re completely clueless about hoops. The fact he’s still employed either suggests they’re still under his spell, or they’re saving face. They’re fighting on the lie of it being a worthwhile trade because if they were to just fire him as a knee jerk reaction, they’d essentially be admitting they made arguably the biggest mistake in modern NBA history.
With all that said, Nico’s on borrowed time (stumbling upon the #1 pick bought him a lil more).
If it was a unilateral decision, Nico woulda been fired after the fan blowback and drop in ticket sales. Why the fukk would billionaires protect Nico

People are delusional.
If Nico was fired after the fan blowback, the dumbass owners would look even more stupid than they already do. They’re not protecting Nico, they’re protecting themselves from embarrassment.
Like I said to the other dude -
they’re fighting on that lie. Once they deem it’s a complete lost cause, Nico will be out of there.
I wish some of y’all would think things through before running up in here acting like you know what you’re talking about.
