Of course, but if people that have no knowledge about basketball listen to their basketball guy who tells them that Luka is holding back the team and he needs to be traded, then what?

Nico having an issue with Luka isn't new. The only thing that changed was an owner that knew a bit about basketball wasn't there to tell Nico no to his dumb shyt anymore.

The Mavs simply didn't want to pay Luka.

Why do y'all keep IGNORING this?:mjlol:

This bullshyt was already debunked. Why are you repeating it as if it’ll make it magically come true?

Luka will make the franchise more profit than they could ever pay him (AD isn’t going to do that). He bought them back from the monetary dead, and now they’re back in the grave after trading him.

This here.

They were clearly worried about dude's conditioning, which is why they kept delaying the offer on that supermax extension. They said people in the front office said Luka wasn't willing to "really do what it would take" to commit to the team for a whole season. So they did what they could to save that $345M.

That poster doesn't know WTF they're talking about and that goes for anyone else who tries to regugitate that bullshyt.

If the [new] owners had their time again and didn't fall for Nico's nonsense, they never would've traded Luka away.

They've lost millions upon millions in revenue: "dwindling crowds, plummeting merchandise sales and sponsors severing ties with the franchise in the wake of the trade". Along with the fact they'll be paying AD 60m a season over the next three years, and he couldn't get them to the playoffs last season and the Mavs won't be making the playoffs this season.

Paying Luka the supermax would only be marginally more than what they're having to pay AD over the next 3 years.

They would make more money giving Luka the supermax than paying AD. They've lost money in the short term and long term trading Luka.

Marinate on that.

"It's a decision, team sources told ESPN, that probably will cost the franchise nine figures over the next several years, as the Mavs are projected to lose dozens of millions in revenue this season due to dwindling crowds, plummeting merchandise sales and sponsors severing ties with the franchise in the wake of the trade. So many fans canceled season tickets in the days after the trade that the Mavs attempted to generate some goodwill by offering limited refunds."
bu-bu-but the Mavs wanted to save money.

All the while paying a 33-year-old, fat, broken down big nearly 200m.

Trading him for a player who’s 6 years older with an injury history and not even future picks is malpractice

Also if you read the articles on how the deal came together Nico actually thought AD was a much better player. He was actually shocked he could get AD for Luka lol

Craziness.

Goes to show you that a lot of these GM's in the seat don’t really know ball.

At tonight's game, the crowd was chanting "fire Nico" and sh*t, lol. I kinda get the feeling that his days in Dallas are numbered.
