Nico was always right. Luka has dunked the ball 2 times in 3 years. And he’s only 26. His defense has gotten even worse. There’s no way in hell you pay some regressing that quickly $375 million a year.

His ceiling was reached when he had a true alpha scorer to carry him when it matters (Kyrie) because he will never be in shape.

He only played 3 months of basketball this year and he looked like Larry Bird on his way out of the league last night :picard:
“Luka isn’t in shape and gets fatter every year because he plays too much basketball” @Gil Scott-Heroin :bryan:

The regression can be seen in real time. Last year he was getting by Rudy and scoring on him much easier. This year he had to rely on fadeaways and long bombs. Nico was right
And yet another 40-piece since you popped your head up in this thread -

Luka's 12th consecutive game with 30+ PTS — first Laker since Kobe (2002-03)— 16 straight.
What's the matter, you gone silent again?

Nico's decision will look smarter as the years go on. I'm sure he got paid handsomely to be the scapegoat for a decision the whole front office probably supported behind closed doors while pretending they weren't aware :mjlol:

People can cry about it all they want. None of yall are signing checks.

Dallas saw Luka everyday close up and didn't feel comfortable giving him a max deal.

The NBA is a racket. LA thought they could make something happen with him. Deals were made to get Luka to LA and Dallas to get Cooper in return.

Nico is a fashion marketing exec, Dumont an investment banker, and Adelson is the an evil widow of a casino owner. Nico also saw Curry closely and thought he was meh when he was at Nike.

Not exactly the greatest basketball minds in the world. You are talking by as if it was the coaching staff that sent him to LA.

Like I said breh, they all saw Luka up close and weren't impressed. The whole building did.

Everything else is theater. They didn't feel comfortable paying him $60, $70 million a year.

It wasn’t just trading him it was the fact they did it so quietly and quickly not demanding any picks or players

You have one of the biggest trade assets in the NBA and you don’t even shop him around or leak that he’s available to get teams into a bidding war you trade him out of nowhere at midnight on a Saturday like he was an average player who was about to face meth charges and you wanted to get rid of him fast as possible before this info came out publically just to get any value for him at all
