Britain told Nigeria to legalise gay marriage of forfeit international aid. I thank God for our lawmakers who refused to sign the bill legalising gay marriage. And so God gave me the wisdom to use science as a scientist to prove gay marriage wrong.

You can't request foreign aid and then only treat a certain type of people fair. Straight or not, they're still Nigerian. Why should we help you when you need help, when you're not even willing to help your own people.

Things like this need to happen, when countries are stuck in an old school state of mind, there is no progression and wars tend to break out and it's hard to even negotiate. If you're not willing to move forward and accept the fact that there's gay people all over the world then why should you be able to accept aid from people that do?

So this isn't just lip service, this is coming from someone highly educated, experienced and respected. This whole "Aid to Africa" thing is a shame/scam to keep Africa in a subservient position.

who said the people don't want it, did someone do a survey or something? anyhow the whole aid thing is bad is not new, many economist been saying that since the 70's and even earlier but that's beside the point. the government sets the laws (corrupt or not) and they're asking for aid so it's not unreasonable to stipulate that a subset of the population have some rights and besides the amount shyt that goes down over there (sexual and physical abuse of women and children, tribal and religious violence, ..etc) two homos being able to legally marry should be the least of anyone's concern.

But I think homosexuality being illegal is a more fundamental issue in African countries like Nigeria. Gay marriage is further down the list in terms of equal rights.
