You can't request foreign aid and then only treat a certain type of people fair. Straight or not, they're still Nigerian. Why should we help you when you need help, when you're not even willing to help your own people.

Things like this need to happen, when countries are stuck in an old school state of mind, there is no progression and wars tend to break out and it's hard to even negotiate. If you're not willing to move forward and accept the fact that there's gay people all over the world then why should you be able to accept aid from people that do?

Government is ran different, our president endorses gay marriage, it's the states that don't allow it. Homosexuality hatred isn't as intense in the US as it is in Nigeria and this article proves it.

who said the people don't want it, did someone do a survey or something? anyhow the whole aid thing is bad is not new, many economist been saying that since the 70's and even earlier but that's beside the point. the government sets the laws (corrupt or not) and they're asking for aid so it's not unreasonable to stipulate that a subset of the population have some rights and besides the amount shyt that goes down over there (sexual and physical abuse of women and children, tribal and religious violence, ..etc) two homos being able to legally marry should be the least of anyone's concern.

She talked about how her book was being received in Africa and how she met with many African presidents and leaders and it was all well received. She said that most of the resistance she has been getting has been from Western NGO (Non profit organizations).

Hmmm, now why would NGO's be upset when the people they are giving aid to are considering the idea of no longer accepting that aid?

They did do a survey on how people were reacting to China's presence in Africa. China decided to do business WITH Africa instead of treat them like a charity case and throw "aid" at them. Due to the business there has been the construction of infrastructure. I think they still need to be careful and not let China do what the western world has done.

Make money with the Chinese (the Chinese can benefit by having a good relationship with Africa. China has billion of people and not enough land for agriculture. Africa has a lot of land and resources. The two Continents working together can put Africa in a goo position and keep China in a good position as well.

Obviously Homosexuality does cause harm to society. It harms the institution of marriage, Lowers Birth rate, STDs prevalence increases significantly

gay marriage leads to More children will grow up Fatherless/Motherless etc etc.
