its no different than a "imprint" in a record company, the record company does all the work and you get a tiny percentage

I don't think it's that. It's more of a situation where people are distraught yet again that they'd rather be employees for someone else than bosses on their own with the influence and capital they do have.

Not to mention some of those workers makes as little as $1.25 an hour and have no benefits while working in some of the most detestable conditions known to man.

But that's the difference between a brand like Nike that thrives of cheap labor in third world countries and a brand like New Balance has the majority of their factories in the US and the UK...hence the reason they are so expensive.

But then again those workers get even in so many ways. Those factory molds from the Nike plant are used to make variants in other factories which then get sold on the black market.
