It's not that hard to cook Sunday dinner, not for grown adults to be fighting about it. It's not hard at all actually. In fact, it's easier than ever if measured in the time it takes.
Grandma was cooking for 6 kids, not 1.5 kids and a dog.
Microwave, oven, induction stove top, air fryer, crockpot. Modern manufacturing has made these appliances 10x cheaper, Amazon has made them readily available. Order your groceries online, curbside pick-up, don't even have to go in the store.

If it isn't Sunday dinner, you'll get pushback on laundry or cleaning. They got roombas. Clothes aren't line-dried or basin-washed. The dryer comes with wrinkle-away. I can't remember the last time I bought a can of starch or used an iron.

their pay has increased but at the cost of work life balance too. people are literally living to die faster if it weren't for the cornucopia of meds taken daily to stave off death's gripAs a kid in the 90s, I could probably count on one hand how many times we ate Burger King, McDonald's, etc in a year. Eating fast food was considered a "treat" but nowadays people eat it daily or multiple times a week. Combination of increased sedentary lifestyle, it's no wonder Americans are so fat.

If you read any of posts in here I cook for my son damn near everyday. I’ve always cooked, since I was 12, because I was taught how to by my mom and grandma and it’s not hard to do. I admit that I don’t make soul food like that, but that’s only because it’s fatty and bad for you, but I do cook.
brehs were in here complaining about bw not cooking and being lazy, etc. so I encouraged them to stop dating us and date out. Then I’m told I’m deflecting and being lazy for saying that, when other Brehs were in here saying the same thing, but only one checked them on it.
When a Breh says he’s just going to get a Becky and Latina I say cool, enjoy them tacos and unseasoned rotisserie then you say I’m imaginary refuge, lazy and complacent.

That’s all I make, baked chicken, pan cooked chicken breast, tilapia, salmon, trout, sautéed shrimp, veggies, etc. my son loves greens lol, so when it comes to soul food I make that for him but I rarely make fried food and I’m trying to stay away from red meat and pork—they’re just not good for you.

I don’t have a desire to be married. I’m not a traditional woman, but I do like to bake and cook and I do cook for the people I love and care about. I don’t make soul food though. Not that I see anything wrong with it in moderation but it’s not something I ever really crave. Like the last time I had fried chicken was before I got Covid-19, that was was back in September.
What gets me is how they want to promote how difficult it is to be with them and how they won't do shyt for any man and you gotta do xyz for them.

But what's wrong with a pot of black eyed peas tho? Or some kale finessed into tasting like collard greens, and in a fraction of the time? There's more to soul food than fried chicken (which I also make, but in the airfryer). We must preserve our foodways, that's our history.
