you keep moving the goal post. first it was pokemon go is bare bones and offers nothing, to now it's the plans can't be that big

pokemon go players would be happy with simple stuff like trading pokemons, new pokemons, a friends list, sharing stuff to facebook or nintendo ID/miiverse. it's not meant to be a full pokemon game, simply a mobile game to play while you're walking or waiting around. two different markets.
as far as not needing to produce hardware, that doesn't make sense for them. nintendo wouldn't be able to expand it's nintendo universe and social platform if they only make games for sony or microsoft. they have too much to give up right now. you nintendo haters keep thinking short term whereas nintendo is pushing their IPs into other markets; pokemon in mobile, talks of zelda being a live-action series produced by netflix, nintendo themed park in japan and collectible figures in amiibo. they can still produce hardware while being a viable company.
