. Only gamers that care about Nintendo are the Japanese, children, and gamers above 25 who are still nostalgic for the nes and snes days. Personally I think it would be wise to stop throwing my money at a company that BARELY exists in serious gaming conversations today.Like I told you in the Shenmue thread. I'd rather hate on it and be surprised. But history has taught me to not expect anything besides gimmicks from Nintendo.
I disagree. Some of the best games this gen and last gen were Nintendo games. The fact that a lot of people missed out on it Because the wiiu as a console was a flop is another argument. I love my Uncharteds and whatnot but a gaming gen without Mario, Zelda, Smash, Kart, Metroid and other Nintendo IPs is like the rap game with just trap and club bangers.OK. But I'm still hitting the
Nintendo games aren't the problem, it's their console and backwardness. The GC was arguably one of the best consoles Nintendo had. It has much better 3rd party support than other Nintendo consoles recently and that was due to the hardware. The only slight was their disc format. Had they had a standard DVD format, the GC would've been a serious contender that gen. The "kiddy " label hurt them.
The "gimmicks" are the problem, not Zelda or Metroid prime you crazy as hell. A console similar to PS4 except with the catalog from Nintendo franchises would be a MUCH better console compared to the too similar Xbox like this gen.

GC had the best graphics of the gen and had 3rd party support. They're in position to do that again with the NX. They could make it equal or superior to the PS4 graphically which would in turn get the support of 3rd party developers again. Couple that with the overall strength of Nintendo (1st party heavyhitters) and you have arguably the best system out. They still have a long way to go with online services and streaming services, and their controllers over the past 2 gens have been too specific to their 1st party games...another reason no 3rd party devs will touch it.
Nah Xbox did, GC was 2nd which was decent. The third party would be fixed if the NX became a hit. These companies speak money. It's why PS4 looking like 360 this gen. Look at how Activision changed up.

It won't become a hit because Nintendo won't give anyone who owns XB1/PS4 a reason to cop an NX if it's not powerful and doesn't have the streaming apps and online services people use.
We need more info to say for sure but for now we gotta go off of the evidence from the past 2 gens:
-Inferior console horsepower
-Limited to no online experience compared to XBL/PSN
-Alienated 3rd party developers due to the points above and due to the controller design and capabilities
-Nobody bought the WiiU so even if they have an improved online experience for NX, the community isnt there
Yeah that's what I mean they'd have to make something worth a shyt. The Wii U was just dumb and gimmicky with inferior hardware.
Nintendo keeps coming to the party late. Nikkaz been had HD but they wait until 2012 to do so. The Wii U should have been the Wii specs wise.

I'm not arguing whether the consoles have had their hits here and there but come on. You really not gonna admit that Nintendo has been the console real gamers buy when they have absolutely nothing else to spend their money on? Zelda, Mario, metroid, etc all untouchable classics, but those games don't come out often enough and the console itself is trash. Nintendo has made way too many mistakes, mistakes that should have put them out of business by now. I own all these consoles, and had my fun with them, but at the end of the day they don't have the longevity to stand up to ps3 or xb1 and that's just facts. I can't feign excitement for a console coming from a company that is on a level of complacency I have never seen before.

I have said it time and time again. Nintendo gambled and the Wii paid off in the short term, but did incredible damage to their brand with the older demographic of hardcore gamers. They might NEVER win them back as a result of the past 10 years of their home consoles...Think about that. A fukking DECADE has passed with the Wii name and this is where Nintendo is. I am still optimistic however, I am buying the Wii U when it drops down to $100 everywhere.
