I have trust in Nintendo, but some of their recent decisions have been questionable.

They need a big game out the gate anyway. Mario games never disappoint.

Being the pushback is smart because Nintendo is making sure that the NX launch is going to get it right. The PS4 gen is the most underwhelming gen, compared to the ps1, 2, and 3 in terms of games. The PS4K is and a slap in the face of the original PS4 owners. Might as well wait for the PS5.

This all sounds very last minute. What could have made them skip the holiday season for their console launch?

Not only that but not showing the NX, their next console, at one of the biggest gaming events of the year? They don't fukk with Gamescom and TGS, so they're gonna have a special Nintendo Direct for this?

Once again, this feels very last minute, Nintendo wouldn't miss the chance to launch their console during the holiday season unless something changed with the NX.

Last console to skip out on the holiday season was the PS2.

And the reason for the push back according to Kimishima, was because they wanted to make sure that the launch games were ready to launch alongside the NX.

not unveiling NX at e3 is interesting. i'm guessing it's because sony or microsoft will drop some big news that can overshadow them (PS4K?) so they rather use nintendo direct or whatever else they have. not a big deal honestly. a lot of companies are pulling out of e3 to use their own media anyway

It likely has nothing to do with Sony or Microsoft. I don't think they have enough to show. Word is they won't release till March 17 because the games aren't far enough along to release holiday 16.

Looking back into their software/console/handheld history they have NEVER released one in march usually in the April-September range.

I still want a Wii U just so I can play the new school Mario, Smash Bros, Zelda, Metroid and all the classic first Party Nintendo games. I imagine they'll all be pretty cheap around September.
