PS3 is my main system and I don't have a Wii U but honestly this is probably the best approach for Nintendo at E3. Basically at this point all I want to see is the games so I'm glad to hear that's what the focus will be. I'm holding out for a few more titles to drop before I cop so a big presentation showing off the game pad/tablet or tvii really wouldn't mean shyt to me. Just show me the games

It's kinda obvious that Ninty gives no fukks what "gamers" think. Why would they even bother with a keynote when gaming media is gonna trash it like they always do? seems like a waste of resources. They know who their audience is, and those people will see the Direct videos....

:heh: @ you still thinking people can't afford a WiiU.

I don't play RPGs so I'll pass on Zelda, and I honestly don't care if I ever play a Mario game again. I'm just not interested in the IPs like that. It's the same reason I've had access to a Wii for the last 4 years and never played a damn thing on it.

I would enjoy a Metroid Prime game on the best hardware though.
i'm not interested in Monster Hunter games. if someone started a thread on them i wouldn't click on it enter it or have any comments about it. they may be out there but they don't really exist to me. i tend to ignore things that don't interest me.

i'm willing to bet the majority of the more vocal people cheering the Wii U's failure on are actually interested in Nintendo and their games and if the Wii U was say $50 instead of $350 it'd be sitting in their house right now just like when the PS3 was $600 it was wack and now that its under $250 there are hella people owning it and supporting it.

people don't like to face the fact that they don't have the disposable income to more or less blow money on something they'll seldom use even if aspects of it interest them.

i'm a video game enthusiast. i buy every mainstream home console that comes out at launch regardless of the library or the price. i do this because every console will have SOME games i wanna play on it in its lifetime and when a game i want comes out i don't wanna be that guy that can't play it cause i don't have that system.

There is a difference between not having the disposable income to purchase something, and not seeing the value in purchasing it to begin with.

It would be idiotic for me to go out and spend 300 bucks on a machine i wont use. I could go on Amazon right now and spend thousands of dollars on shyt i have no current use for, does that mean im too broke to afford it? No, it means i dont see a reason to waste money.

Sure Nintendo may release a game 3 years from now id like to play. Guess what, i can buy the console then. There is no reason to buy the console now and just have it collect dust.

He is right, and to those saying we are not reading.

Nintendo not having a big press conference is pretty much throwing in the towel. They can't compete so are trying other ways to get to people...this is not the way to do it IMO.

Most of you obviously didn't read it. Let's be real here. If that wasn't you, ok cool, but let's not sit here and act like the vast majority of people in this thread didn't take the title at face value. You can read the comments here and instantly know people thought Nintendo would have zero presence at E3.

And to the people agreeing with Sessler, he said "I think Nintendo needs to have a show case for their soft ware"....that's exactly what they said they're doing at E3, so I'm kinda confused how people are saying this is a bad move, but are agreeing with him at the same time.

What's funny is, I bet if Nintendo didn't say anything nobody would even notice anything different about their presentation at E3. But since they did for some reason we need to differentiate between doing a "big press conference" and just being there showing off new games.

why does Nintendo need to do a press conference? they've been showing us games and announcing games with Nintendo Directs for a while now. this whole save up all ammo till E3 and do a press event thing is tired.

this is honestly a situation i support Nintendo on. E3 is a sick dog that needs to be put down. its a joke. nothing more than a fanboy cock measuring contest where fanboys hype up shyt they don't even want (like Kinect was) just because their company of choice is backing it. every year they pander more and more to casuals who'd rather game on iPads now than mess with them anyway.

didn't Microsoft pull out Usher at one of those things and have him preform a whole damn song?

e3 is important to the gaming industry and until you realize that you don't deserve much of a response from anyone.

They TRIED to downscale e3 before and it was a DISASTER. The whole industry agreed to go back to the way it was.

Ummmm i think people would notice if there was no presentation from Nintendo. Those presentations are the main thing people focus on at E3. If Nintendo announces a new game during their press conference I, along with many other people would see it because we make sure to watch the conferences. If they announce a game during a Nintendo Direct then i wouldnt see it because i dont watch those. I dont even know when they release.

Also a lot of mainstream press is at the big presentation but they dont walk the floor and go to smaller press events to write about the games. I have never seen CNN show footage from a side press conference but they do it all the time for the huge presentations.

@hexagram :comeon: The thread title is off but gamers would notice.

For me as a Nintendo fan and Wii U owner, its not about them not having a presentation. Like I said E3 is overrated by gamers. Its more about Sessler's statement saying Nintendo is in a bubble.

You have to start asking why Nintendo makes the moves they do.

- How do you completely ignore online gaming last gen?
- How did they sell all those Wiis but had to cut the console life short?
- Why does the WiiU have inferior specs after they banked with the Wii?
- Why has Nintendo still struggled 3rd party support since competitors entered the market?

Everyone loves Nintendo IP's. However, everyone also has a breaking point when dealing with bullshyt that can be avoided. Especially when its the same mistakes over and over.
