This whole controversy is just rage bait. Bricking consoles used for piracy has been an industry standard since the PS3 and 360. Nintendo's just gotta be the bad guy for some people.

Correct, and some Xbox 360s were getting bricked. This isn’t actually new.

If you’re gonna roll those dice and mod your console to pirate, keep it offline. Nothing’s changed.

Every console ive hacked/had homebrew I kept offline with no accounts signed into it. If you're going to hack your console you need to keep it offline. You lose multplayer functionality but thats the trade off.
