I’m honestly not even sure what makes this worth 50 more dollars outside of differentiating itself from the og model to casuals this is the lightest refresh and it’s been 5 years of tech since

one outcome is, they could pull a 3DS launch and fumble it so bad that this new model gets a price cut within 3-4 months of release

The Switch is still at its launch price 4 years later. Within 2 years the PS4 had a price cut and within 3 years the slim version was out for $100 less.

New 3DS barely had exclusives, but many games did run better.
