it doesn't help that VC choices have been mediocre at best...so that isn't even worth it for a "free" title

I really don't get the price point complaints. 
It's suppose to be priced similar to it's counterparts that's on older hardware and make a return on top of that?
At this point the price is the least of Nintendo's worries. They're not winning the hardware race in by simply going against the grain. The PS2 raped the competition by having a great library and the weakest hardware of the three. I don't know if Nintendo got the juice.

Whoever runs Nintendo is clueless on hardware
They better go hard with virtual console. Those are the probably the only games pushing the 6.5 hour battery charge limit.

I mean this shyt is baffling
. People complain about PS+ and Games with Gold giving you indie titles, and not giving you new current games but at least most games on the service came out in the last few years or sometimes new, not to mention you get to keep them as long as you're subscribed. It would have been a great way to add value to their online system and entice people to give it a chance, but now 
. They haven't announced a price yet, but even at a lower price point it would be disappointing and seeing how much Nintendo is charging for controllers I'm not optimistic. Watch them try to knock a dollar or two off of the same VC games they have been reselling for years.

It was implied that the Switch would get the same support as the 3DS and I don't see that. Only a handful of games.
