Nintendo can suffer losses of a quarter billion dollars until the year 2052 until they go bankrupt bruh. They're worth over 20 Billion USD. Only about 4 Billion is generated by sales. See what I mean by breathing room for failure?

This is what people don't get and it kills me when people say Nintendo can just lose money for decades.

When Nintendo had a huge loss back in I think 2014, there was some changes made. Iwata himself said that entering the mobile space was a bad idea but Nintendo had to satisfy shareholders who saw all the money Nintendo was missing out on in the mobile market.

No company can just lose money quarter after quarter and still operate the same, no matter how much money they have.

is it to avoid selling the console at a loss or what? seriously, they might get more third party support if their fukking console could actually keep up with the latest generation.

No way they could make a system that's more powerful than PS4/X1, portable, and not cost $1000+

Just give me a small, but quality library of party games that i can play locally with my daughter and I'll buy it with a smile. Both the PS and XBox are severely lacking in this aspect, and it's the only reason i have any interest in video games at this point. I don't get why Sony and Microsoft don't get this. They're really fukking themselves up out of a lot of future sales down the line.

They've been suffering losses for over 5 years straight, so what you mean by won't allow? After that many years the only thing that's changed is we now have two Nintendo mobile apps (Miitomo and Super Mario Run). They're still putting out underpowered consoles compared to the competition.
