:lupe: You think they should go all the way on a Naito IWGP HW title push or is that 2013 backlash by the fans still going to hold Naito back? :skip: With today's booking, you can tell how much marks of 80's NWA wrestling Gedo & Jado are. They just eliminated Naito, and now its almost a given AJ-Tanahashi is going to be the finals match. Okada-Tanahashi have dope matches, but we really need them to match up again? :francis: Same with AJ-Okada. They got some really good talent, but they have to build up a youngin ASAP as a main eventer with Tanahashi's back injuries & Nakamura getting older. Shibata will never be the "guy" because he left NJPW high & dry & he has beef with Tanahashi, even though countless times he has shown to be one of, if not the most over guy when he is in the ring on the level with Nakamura imo.

This, a Naito title run is a good alternative for now. I haven't been watching for long but Aj/Okada/Tanahashi are the only ones that have held the main strap. I like nakamura but I don't really want him as champ again. They should've pulled the trigger on Ibushi.
I'm a Shibata Stan but it looks like that will never happen even tho he's been over as fukk.

They need new guys to Vary the main event scene

I hope this next Tana/Okada main at WK10 is the last one.I don't know how they're gonna set up Tanahashi/okada again for WK10. 2/3 falls?
You think it's a forgone conclusion this is the main event for WK10? I guess it makes sense from a redemption standpoint for Okada since last year that L had him all distressed

Yup, I don't see okada losing the title any time soon and Tanahashi will probably win the G1 if he's facing AJ in the finals

Before the tourney began I had Nakamura over Styles in the finals but I have no clue. There are many directions they can go. Would have been even more interesting if Naito didn't go down against Gallows:francis:

A possible CHAOS /Los Ingobernables feud though:ohhh: Or maybe Los Ingobernables vs Bullet Club:jbhmm:

I would go all the way with him right now. Give him the IC title, bring in the rest of his stable and set up Nakamura vs Naito at WK10. I hope this next Tana/Okada main at WK10 is the last one.I don't know how they're gonna set up Tanahashi/okada again for WK10. 2/3 falls?
:ehh: I would have preferred an Okada/Nakumura matchup for WK 10 & do a Chaos potential split/rift. It seems like they have done all they could with Tanahashi/Okada. Maybe give Okada a strong final big win over Tanahashi at the WK10 show, to show that Okada will be the "guy" going forward as their big draw. My booking would be to do a double turn & have Styles turn face & officially turn Tanahashi as a heel, & that would really refresh a lot of matchups imo. :francis: They won't since how beloved Tanahashi is forreal, unlike John Cena though.

When Ibushi is in the ring with Nakamura/Tanahashi/Okada, he shows that he belongs on that main event level imo. I think he should be able to replace one of Nakamura/Tanahashi as a main guy, don't know when though. :skip: Shibata just doesn't seem to have any political allies in the company. :snoop: I remember reading that Makabe even used his political card to beat Shibata at the WK show in 2013. I know he has his critics for ditching NJPW for MMA, and not being a success in MMA, but he can do it all, but they missed that window on him.

I guess they are going for an Okada/AJ final. But things can change. Each block has three possible contenders to that first place.

Both Korakuen nights were excellent. The crowd is always great and the wrestlers know they are on the final phase of the tournament.

Night 14

Elgin/Anderson was excellent. Hard hitting. The crowd was behind these gaijin.
Nagata/Kojima was good. These two are in the final strides of their careers, and it shows.
Okada/Yujiro was better than expected thanks to Based Okada (:wow: Still the cleanest dropkick in the biz) and Nao-Chan :takedat:
Honma is the fukking MVP of this tournament. Awesome match with Nakamura. Relentless Kokeshi attack.
Ishii/Goto was fantastic, non-stop action. Lots and lots of headbutts, damn.

Night 15

Kobashi on commentary :leon:We can't hear him, tho:stopitslime: But if we could, we wouldn't understand shyt:sadbron:

Naito/Gallows was very good. Naito wasn't getting any boos until he pushed the referee. And even after that he was playing the face.
Shibata/Tenzan was also very good, increasing in intensity until the end. Huge pop for that.
Yano/Ibushi... Yep :francis:
AJ/Fale was very interesting story-wise. Probably the only Fale match I've ever liked. He almost killed AJ :damn: That pop when he tried the Styles Clash :wow:
Tanahashi/Makabe was aight. We've seen better main events. Crowd was clearly behind Makabe.

I figured these nights would be rough, dwindling down the competition...but I feel like Yano kicked me in the dikk, too.
i really hate the Cena/Tanahashi comparison
I've always considered him an even cheekier Jericho.

The first night's final match with Ibushi implanted the idea, as I kinda sold it to my gf in comparison to that underrated bout between Jericho and Neville (seasoned vet versus talented underdog) that opened The Beast In The East.

A comes down to the winner of AJ/Tanahashi. If they draw, Naito wins.

B will come down to Okada/Nakamura. No fancy scenario there.

I've been convinced we were getting Naka/AJ finals with Naka winning since day one. Once Naito beat Tana and AJ clean I've been thinking Tana/AJ goes 30. Perfect scenario for a 30, and been a few years since the Okada/Tana one.
