So if they did all the right things why are most of us collectively still struggling? All that saving means nothing if you aren't passing on the knowledge to the next generation of how to do the same. Many of our predecessors were on some, "I figured it out on my own, you'll do it too if you wanna make it." Why are ppl acting as if many of our own families don't put us into debt? Adding bills in children's names. Parents expecting teenagers to foot adult responsibilities. Yet we wonder why people spend money on frivolous stuff.
I'm convinced many of y'all love wagging a finger while purposely choosing to ignore soft but very real factors that influence our ability to build and maintain wealth.
This isn't always the case. So saying "a lot" is a reach here. I can easily say that a lot of black predecessors put their kids in good situations and they fcked it up. There are countless stories of parents leaving their kids homes and they jacked it off. This situation goes both ways.
