The thing I never get about Kroger is I'll see multiple employees walking around the store, yet by the time you get to check out it's just two cashiers and 8 empty aisles. I'm not gonna say the employees walking around aren't doing anything, I get they have other obligations and are definitely doing stuff. It's just weird how the store deliberately creates long lines. When I first noticed this, the self check-out areas would be wide open so you could easily use that. But now people are using self check-out more often so there's a long line there too.

I sincerely think there is a psychological component to the long lines created in these stores (i.e. it makes the store look busy and popular, which our mind may interpret as the store being reputable). Could be wrong though. Since learning about companies through trading, though, I get now how all that matters with publicly-traded companies are shareholder profits/dividends. Customer service is not priority.

ATL, but rasied in DMV
I prefer self-checkout any day of the week, however the Kroger self checkout isn't as user friendly as the rest, including Walmart. You have to be a regular shopper at Kroger to get the hang of it, otherwise you'll be stuck at the screen, if you don't follow every prompt in the exact order it tells you to. That's not the way to go.

Make you hate self-checkout so much that you’ll just pay for Kroger delivery instead.

The subscription hustle, can’t stop, won’t stop :wow:

I worked for a Wal-Mart before they went full self serve for three and half years. They used to run thru cashiers and cashier supervisors. They needed this

Well, now that Kroger bought/merged with Albertson's will be interesting. None in NYC so I'm good for now

I can’t remember the last time I went to a cashier at a grocery store

I use self checkout every rip. If you’re not a retard that doesn’t know how to use them it’s easy & quicker

I'm 100% self-checkout gang.

I guess lonely and miserable people that need someone to talk to or to make other people miserable are not happy about these machines.

Cashier is a miserable job anyway. Because who want to deal with dumbass customers all day. :hhh:
some of us buy a week+ worth of goods. of course you like self check out if you're buying fukking candy and today's bullshyt :camby:
