Before the :flabbynsick: come in here whining about the culture

Yall dont support the real. This is partially yall fault. The youth and the taste makers. It's way bigger than "no one makes good music anymore"

Yall don't appreciate the good music that's made. That's why it's not broadcasted. That's why the artists who make bullshyt make it

"I could rhyme like Common Sense......."

This JID record is everything yall say isn't in the mainstream anymore. One of the many quality albums that came out in the past year. How come it didn't go Gold?
:jbhmm:

Exactly
:unimpressed:

JID is trash.

1. too many artist
2. Lack of creativity
3. Cons of Social media/streaming

Music is in a bad place right now. Mainstream wise it’s been going downhill dramatically the last few years. Too many artist, no one standing out.

I’m 27 so don’t call me flabby. Albums don’t hit the same these days. I feel like too many artist focus on making “bangers” instead of cohesive projects. The bar for being an artist has never been lower. Now a days it’s too easy become a rapper.

I’m sick and tired of turning on a song hearing about someone sliding on oops or generic hood shyt. That’s 95% of the genre and it’s resulted into soulless microwave music.

There are a number of factors. Biggest one might be fatigue from everything sounding the same.

Also modern rap artists just don't have personas that are interesting. What the fukk are these new nikkas even talking about these days. If you gonna talk about nothing at least put some effort into your rhymes man.

Weakest hiphop era of all time.

That's all it is. You can look at William Roberts getting a pass for stealing Freeway Ricky's name & Slim Thug's flow, then move on to Drake catching fire doing a Lil Wayne + Kanye impression and fast forward to today with the OP posting a Kendrick clone. If somebody does come out with something refreshing, it gets copied and played out before the originator gets time to fly.

Biting used to be a cardinal sin in Hip Hop and now it's not only accepted, it's expected.

What happened to Rock is slowly happening to Rap. You are seeing the beginning of Rap no longer being the dominant genre in music. :francis:
might be true

but the exciting thing is what's next?
