Story sounds like some sensationalized BS that got blown up. This supposedly happened Thursday but made waves Sunday night. Like Harbaugh with the sign stealing, started on a message board that eventually got to twitter and so forth and so on. Seems to be a recurring theme at Michigan no matter the coach/sport.

All I know is rather right or wrong the narrative is Jawan only had success with Coach B players, the university is not doing him any favors with the strict academic requirements and they have missed out on key transfers in the portal. Even with a story like this you can see which way the tide has turn when you're not having success. Last year sucked but the year before they were in the sweet 16. If this year is a failure he may be gone.

So, by now everyone has heard so I’ll talk about it.

I received word Friday after practice that this occurred. I was told it was physical and that has continued to be reiterated to me from people in the building.

Want to clarify, punches were NOT thrown from either Juwan or Sanderson. But I was told Howard allegedly squared up to Sanderson after a comment was made to the effect of a lack of accountability.

The reports came out yesterday that it was physical and then that it wasn’t physical. This is common in reporting. People play telephone and it gets misconstrued.

Again, it was reiterated to me, THIS MORNING, that there was no punches thrown but it was physical.

Of note, Sanderson chose to not travel with the team. No disciplinary action has been taken yet. Little doubt in my mind, that there will be legitimate discipline to come.

2nd of note, Juwan Howard is on a zero tolerance policy following the Wisconsin incident…

Players leaving for the NBA early and transfer portal. Whole college basketball landscape is different now. Look at how trash Michigan State is right now. Top 4 preseason to unranked in a few weeks.
guess the academics are stringent too? I mean UM is waaayyy ahead of the academics than OSU.

Top programs, well really college basketball programs would love if they could get a "5 star", have a decent season and hopefully recruit more down the line. The old college basketball wave is DEAD. These teams don't care about the tourney as much as they care about the notoriety. There is no such thing as the "blue boods" anymore like your UNC's, Dukes, UCLA's, etc.. Yeah those programs still exist but it's harder to stay at that level with the portals and one and done.

Michigan should recruit on the lower level and get guys who are not projected as lottery guys and build the programs, that's what Coach B did. Overwhelming that's the majority of college basketball but the one and done lottery guys get the headlines and its getting harder to have a cohesive team foundation now with the portal running rampant.

Gonzaga and Kansas don't appear to have that issue or do they do what you put in the bolded?

The answer to your question is in my previous post, Kansas and Gonzaga do not have the academic restrictions that Michigan does therefore they can get more of the 5 star recruits..

The previous Michigan Coach(Beilein) made a point of emphasis to not recruit those types of players and even when his program started to gain success and guys started to leave early that drove him crazy and out of college basketball because of the landscape and he knew he couldn't build a team thru the years the way he once could.
