So. Cal
The owners will never agree to a huge cap raise to pay these players. If u gave a team 300 mil+, theyd be losing their monies on investing into the players instead of having the avg football fan watch their team lose with a small cap. The parity of the league would be even better with a huge cap

They still had a winning record and Blair Walsh cost them a couple games. Need to get off this narrative that Russ is good enough to be a playoff QB. Russ is still a top 5 qb in the league.

And if were on that discussion besides Brady who has Beli in that system, both Brees and Rodgers have missed the playoffs in their careers, Brees many times.

Russ is good but the reason the Seahawks was a Super Bowl contender is because of the all world defense they had. An average QB with a good can win a Super Bowl. An average team around a good QB cannot. I’m not saying dnt pay Russ I’m just saying the QB market needs a correction. QBs are overvalued.

I agree it needs a correction but I dont see it happening when they touch the ball every offensive snap. fixing the rookie payscale was a step in the right direction so Bradford's aren't getting 50 mills right outta college. you are seeing the fruits of that now with some of these big deals going around now.

Fair enough but it’s the same point l, if the NFL star players held out a deal would be made asap. Nobody is gonna enjoy watching backups out there in ugly ass games.

Dont expect a bunch of cats who give and receive brain damage for a living to successfully collectively bargain versus billionaires. What else could the explanation be for why their share of the revenue is so low?

Cap should be 300 million at minimum, players union is trash and most top players are too c00ned up or white to holdout.
Hold out for what?? More $$ that they already werent receiving. Only quarterbacks and the elite of the elite can hold out. Khalil mack was traded before he got paid. They tried to call odell immature so they didnt have to pay him. Aaron rodgers even had to voice displeasure to get the packers nervous. The problem is the union.

I heard some story about the union putting together a slush fund so at the next CBA negotiation there were be money for the lower salary players to tap into so they could live off it during a strike

dont know if theres any truth to it tho

If Stafford gets hurt we ain't winning a game breh
Have you seen this team this preseason :mjlol:, they may not win one with him and they have refuse to get a real backup QB since drafting Stafford, Cassel isn't third string on most teams

Wrong. You’re just making shyt up now. If you aren’t then drop all the mlb teams with all this major spending. Very few teams in the mlb have more one players on a team make more than 20 million. Mlb players don’t even get paid really until they hit free agency and that takes 6 years of service time on a mlb 25 man roster

You’d be hard press to find more 5. And that include the usual suspects in the Yankees and Red Sox. Maybe the reds and dodgers. Every sports league with a huge roster can’t pay all these multiple mega contracts.

The friggin blue Jays had 3 this year :dahell: you talking about

The cap being only 70 million more than an NBA team that has 4 times less people is embarrassing. What’s there split 70/30 in favor of the owners?

What's the split between Players/Owners?

47 to 48.5 for players.

The division of revenue between the NFL owners and players has been one of the key issues throughout the negotiation. For this year, players will receive 48 percent of the revenue, based upon information that has come out from the negotiations.

The players’ share of revenue will be calculated as follows: 55 percent of League Media (including TV and radio), 45 percent of NFL Ventures (licensing products) and 40 percent of local club revenues.

The players share has an upper limit of 48 percent for 2012-2014 and 48.5 percent for 2015-2020, and a lower limit of 47 percent throughout the agreement.

NBA split.

NBA 49 to 51.

Edit: This is what I found on MLB(From a 2016 AP article).

Financial data released by Major League Baseball to The Associated Press showed the big leaguers' share of net revenue was between 48.5 percent and 51.7 percent each year since 2006.
