I feel the plant example was whacky(though I do believe it's in reference to the kids showing up to eat....being able to plant and grow their own vegetables would be valuable), and getting rid of all the books is extreme, but for the most part he's on point. A lot of those books are bullshyt and even the most informative ones are teaching you things that most wouldn't even use in their everyday adult life. Can't speak for you, but I can speak for myself when I say this is absolutely unbiased truth.
The school system IS archaic and their methods of enhancing our mind are disingenuous at best.
Dude was bugging with the "meaningless English" shyt though. I would argue that English is the most important subject from elementary through high school.
This is my 1,000th post btw. I feel like I should thank you for some reason. Lmao.

you guys underestimate the importance of an education. a lot of the problems going on among black americans today have to do with the lack of education going around. you think that these kids would be carrying on the way they would if they were educated about the system? they sure as hell wouldn't. you think that all those kids would be carrying on the way they would if they were educated about the choices that were outthere as well as the lifestyles that they're living. that is WHAT happens when you're not educated. lupe's solution is basically going like "these kids aren't capable of learning math, english and etc. they're not going to use it. they're too dumb to survive outthere in the world. let's teach them how to plant". that's exactly what some people want to. hell, in high school, that's what they wanted the black kids to be. undereducated.
you guys don't get it.
