That isn't what I asked. What has not voting gotten us? What has it gotten impiverished black people in states like Louisiana and Mississippi where they barely have any representation.

Gary Chambers supported reparations. Why wasn't that enough to get black men to vote him? Why did over 900k registered black voters choose not to vote for him?

How can you say black people don’t have power when the leadership is black in the major cities
In both Louisiana and Mississippi?

Can’t speak for Louisiana, but yep. You’re right. Jackson is an example of black Mississippians in power. The entire delta and left side of the state is pretty much ran by black Mississippians. Black Mississippians don’t run the senate or governors office, as white folks still significantly outnumber blacks in the state. Also, Mississippi is one of the few states where the white population is pretty much Republican. Very few white liberals. Even if you got 100% participation in elections by black Mississippians; it would be a tall task flipping the governors office or senate blue.

Dudes speak on Mississippi, and are pretty ignorant of the state. Mississippis problem is, of course, the white senate and governor, but those leaders we also elect in blue areas, aren’t all the time good leaders.
