Really a trial about something that is perfectly legal?

He was referencing something more similar to Congress' vast subpoena power to investigate anything they want to really. If you ever become an attorney you'll know "subpoena" power is a minor concern in actual trials.

How do you know Nas writes have you seen him write :scust:

Shut the fukk up.
I didn't speak on what nas wrote.

You spoke on specifically on what percentage of songs drake wrote. And now you bringing up nas like that has anything to do with this?

You must be an ovo weed carrier to know be be able to report such detail info to the Coli:heh:[/QUOTE]

Your only job is making songs. You dont have a 9-5, you're not in school. Writing shouldnt be a problem.
I agree with you 100% homie, but now the way the game is, the main job is selling the song. Nobody cares who wrote what as long as the song is hot. If writing raps was all that mattered to be an mc in the rap game ghostwriters wouldnt even exist. Hip hop heads care about drake not writin but the overall gp dont care. Why? Because drake drops hits and bangers (for women and men lol). the enteraintment indsutry is full of frauds...

Nah. I'm not buying this. Future just dropped 4 projects in like 8 months..all are heat and it's seriously doubtful he had any writers or reference tracks
How do you know who wrote what? Was you in the studio with homie?

Nobody even thought drake was using reference tracks until meek decided to pull his card...

I bet i have more hip hop in my itunes than most of this board. Lets be real, rap changed after 2000-2001. Its entertainment now. Theres no culture in it. And everybody getting upset isnt going to change anything. Im a fan of drake, it is what it is. Is he in the nas/jayz/pac/ biggie category? No way :heh: but he makes the best music right now and until that changes he isnt going anywhere
Where's all this "best music" shyt coming from?

I hear that argument so much. "As long as the Music is great who cares?"

Dude doesn't make great music, and the actual quality of his music is GOOD. Which is why all his albums are reviewed with the same ratings that Other "less talented" rappers do.

What set Drake apart was the fact that we thought he was a great writer. He doesn't have a great album. Just good ones.

His music isn't any better than Big Sean's music. Difference is Drake has the bigger appeal.

That's not entirely true. People were on Twitter months ago saying Drake sounds eerily similar to QM.

Fred.
Difference is we've been hearing about this for years. The Kia Shine shyt. The Shi Wisdom shyt. The Weeknd penning TC. Nickelus F. We chose to ignore it because we had no proof. Till now.

I don't hear anything about other artists not writing their own shyt. We've been hearing about Drake for years.

My question is this: what value does the rapper have if he's not even needed? Why not just give the writer the record deal? If Drake had an amazing voice I could maybe understand.
N Sync and Backstreet Boys are just props and puppets real music talent use because they have "the look" and have girls going crazy. If we apply this to Drake then we just admit that his talent is his looks and star power, not his musical talent.
