If the united states won't risk war with a Nuclear power, the who is going to stop China from taking Taiwan? Would the US citizens even be behind a war between China to defend a country that most American's don't even know exists?


There are so many parallels between today's world and the world right before WW1, but WW3 will not happen. The once ultra-powerful western nations are weak paper tigers that won't do anything. Today we live in a world where the modern Central Powers (Russia, Phillipines, China, N.korea and others) are free to take land by force (Spratley's, Ukraine), ignore western demands, and defy the global community. Now the softest generation in human history (millennials) are about to take helm of the West.

If this is another negotiating tactic and our officials know that then agreed no military action will take place.

However, the Western propaganda on Kim has been that of an unstable despot willing to do whatever it takes to destroy the US. And if we truly believe he would send nukes our way, what other choice do the administration have? Million deaths there or million deaths here?

Ah okay you're asking if the US buys into it's own bullshyt about Kim being irrational. Well a preemptive strike against North Korea doesn't necessarily change the outcome, if they can attack the continental US.

First, the US doesn't have great information on where all of North Korea's missile silos are (IIRC they have mobile ballistic missiles), so trying to attack those is precarious.

Next, decapitating the regime (ie killing Kim Jong-un) in a strike would likely escalate the situation. You cannot kill the head of state of a nuclear power and not expect reprisals.

Finally, China claimed they would back North Korea if the US strikes first. That's checkmate. There is no military option for a rational actor.

I don't believe Trump is the variable many claim him to be. Rhetoric bores me and his actions are standard GOP bullshyt.

I guess we'll se how it plays out.

China has to continue to build up its military and influence Around the world before it can step to the US and they kno that..they are extending their influencing but it’s still some time to before they are ready to address the US military strength
