They don't make enough money to pay someone to manage their books.. I know this because a lot of them around me couldn't get a legit PPP because of improper book keeping.

Some take that as a clear sign that the area is unprofitable, but you could take it as a sign that there's money in the field and the efforts need to be organized. Usually small business people are only good at doing the work, but usually bad at the running the business. The same can be said for a lot of tradesmen as well.

Set up a payment plan, take ownership in the business - there are all sorts of angles to take even when she doesn't have cash money to pay.
You could even start a Black Woman's Entrepreneur Club at the local church or community center.

This is only if you're interested in nation building though. If this is a dunk on Black Women post, then forget everything I said.

A lot of people aren't introducing new services or products to their area. Their just starting a business to be a business owner.

A lot of these businesses are the same things over and over: Herbals, sage, oils, non-profits, handmade necklaces, flea market type stuff. i'm not knocking it, but it is what it is.

shyt, many of them just want to hire someone momentarily to help make them a website, but let's clown them instead of trying to N E T W O R K lol.

Exactly.

A lot of small businesses, black women included, could make good money, if they only had 1) a bit of education, 2) some help.

Maybe where you are, but I personally know young black entrepreneurs that have their own candle business, interior design business. I know a couple breh's that started their own interior design business.

The hair, nails, body oils bit is just used in my opinion to not support black business. Habib can have 3 body oil shops though and that's cool.

That's where this conversation should be heading, and I wholeheartedly agree.

don't let anyone stop you. just gotta do enough research into what you're getting into AND if you can get a mentor in the industry. Nothing wrong with having 1 or two employees or being a sole proprietorship, just be profitable. I made 6 figures during the height of the pandemic with a couple online businesses. do good work, sell a good product. there will be ups and downs but keep yourself abreast on the industry factors that will affect your profits and adjust, always be willing to adjust.

What college courses help you be more successful in owning a business? :francis:

in 2023?

College courses
  • Accounting
  • Advertising
  • Hiring
  • Algebra and Stats
  • Management/Operations Management
  • Law for Business
  • Finance
Online
  • Paid Advertising - Tiktok, FB, IG, Google Ads/Adsense
  • Social Media Marketing
That's off top.

But more than just information, they need someone to implement.

The good life 😎
I'm confused as fukk. So what about this thread is bashing black women? I'm not seeing it. If a response is full of it, then I can understand, but some are acting like OP yelled a slur or something. He stated a fact and is wondering about it. We've had many threads where we state a fact about men and comment on it with little issue. Are we at the point where we can't comment on black women for anything? I was actually thinking this was the case before, which is why I posted :manny: but now it seems in my facetiousness, I may have been on to something.

What exactly is the problem here? :dahell:
