You don't have to worry about giving tips at fast food joints. Why not got there?

a lot of things in life are "the way they are"...doesnt make it right.

I go to restaurants because of quality of food....not because some waiter is saving me 15-20 steps from me picking up my own food from the kitchen myself. I just dont understand what they do thats so amazing, that they feel so entitled to 15-20% of the damn check.

I always tip, unless the person is absolutely horrible, even then they get a dollar.

For those of you who don't tip, I hope you guys are the one and done types and don't frequent these restaurants. Because believe it or not, the staff remembers shytty/good customers.

I`ve gotten hooked up with a free desert and other perks because I always tip good at Longhorn Steakhouse, staff remembers me and puts me on that call ahead list, always has me in a table with 10 minutes of getting there even if it's jam packed.

For you non-tippers, they`ll remember that too. And you gonna be eating food with a little extra flavor.

Funny thing is, you wanna be all mighty and brag like you don't give a fukk, but your eating food that most likely has snots, dirt, been dropped on the floor, rubbed in the grease that's been building up in the kitchen for years, etc, etc I don't condone a waiter doing that...but ...waiters remember a motherfukker that doesn't tip...you better not go back to the same spot. I'd rather tip what I should or more and not have my food fukked with

Nah bruh...first off no worries if im there the first time. Secondly whats the likelyhood the person that waited my table is workign that day or shift i return, Or I even get them at all. Maybe if you a regular thats a concern. But I feast with no worries.

I dont go to strip clubs, but I have no problem w/ them getting tips because they are actually performing a service (getting naked)...I can go and grab my own damn food, and pour my own sprite. The fck are they doing that demands 20% of the check?

Do you not see them waiting on you as a service? If you wanted to grab your own food, there are all you can eats and buffets but it was you that decided to eat at a restaurant with a wait staff. I do agree that places with the gratuity already tied in feels like they're forcing it on you but I don't really see a problem with tipping. If the service was great, you get a tip. If you're not doing so hot during the service, I'll tell you. Either they correct the problems or they don't and get shyt.

I think I read somewhere that in some situations if you don't tip or something, your server actually ends up paying for your meal. Need to find where I read that.

Still dont understand why waiters insist on being the only people in the service industry that require tipping for doing their fukking job. I tip people in the service industry if I feel the service was exemplary. What I dont understand is mandatory tipping regardless of service

And then they tell us waiters dont get paid well so we have to supplement their salaries. How the fukk is that our problem

help me out here. is it wrong to NOT tip at places like Chipotle?? I can never figure this out. they got a tip jar out there, but 9 outta 10 times, I'm paying by credit card anyways. and its not like they are even bringing the food to me. should I tip the sandwich artist at subway as well????

Hell no..thats a joke I pay with card and see a tip line on my reciept, What did julio exactly do for me to warrant a tip put my food in a bag ?...Manage to not sneeze when he rolled my burrito ?. It's a joke it's all guilt games..you see that tip jar or "Gas for the crew" jar or tip option on ya reciept so that some poor soul without a set of balls will depart some of they money cause they feel bad.

I tip at restaurants because I too worked in one when I was in school, so I understand the struggle.

But when I see tip jars at coffee shops where they are selling $2+ per coffee and all you're doing is pouring coffee into a cup? fukk you. You ain't getting shyt.

I feel ya, but everybody that I know in the restaurant/bartending buisness talks. There's usually a handful of waitresses and a bartender or 2-3 working. Somebody will come back after getting screwed outta a tip and say you remember that guy at table such and such...this jew didn't tip me shyt. They all know, basically its a 50/50 shot if their gonna remember you I'm just saying I prefer my food with out spit or any other nasty shyt.

If they spit in my food, they did more than they ever did before to earn a tip..atleast I would feel i payed a premium for a 20 year old single mothers spit on my sliders something I couldnt have got on my own.

Aint nothing worse than the dude in the bathroom at the club expecting a tip cause he gave me a paper towl to dry my hands. Sh1t get me angry I can't even use the bathroom without having to give n1ggas money. You in here smelling dudes fumes on ya own accord not mine, don't think im a break bread cause you beat me to the soap dish. Now I just bounce without washing my hands like . You shoudl reevaluate ya job situation if 1 bottle of hand sanitizer can put you out of business.

Normally I'm pro-tipping, but this shyt pisses me off to no end.

We used to fukk with people on the regular that were known to not tip/leave < 10%. And yes, we would point those people out if we saw them. I want to seriously stress the importance of not returning to a restaurant where you didn't tip. It can get pretty gross.

But we would also point out known good tippers as well.

Look, the system is incentive-based. If service staff is making a set amount, there's zero incentive to make sure you get what you need when you need it. Service quality would be horrible. You'd never be able to get in anywhere on busy nights because there'd be no incentive to turn tables over. It'd just be bad all around.
